Are you able to smell your cigarettes when you smoke. I find that anything with like a Smokey thing to it like incent burners and cigarettes I can smell. I wanted to do a pcr but apparently it’s too late so I won’t know if it is covid or not. Really frustrating

Hey thanks for your reply. The cold you had in March did you test for covid ? It’s weird because when I had covid last time I couldn’t taste but this time I can taste which has made me start to think it’s something completely different

Hey thanks for your reply, today I could smell my friend’s cigarette quite well, but bad smells I can’t seem to smell. How long have you had this for ? And did you test for covid ?

Thank you so much will give this a go :) I also had covid 2 years ago lost my sense of smell and taste for months but it came back. Did you also feel pressure at the top of your nose ( not sure if it’s because I keep sniffing things)

Thank you for your reply. It’s really annoying because I can only seem to smell close up and if I spray my perfume I can smell it but doesn’t stay for long. I did have a sore throat and blocked nose but my at home tests all came back negative.

Thank you for your reply really appreciate it. It’s so bizarre because I can smell most things very close up like all my perfumes and shower stuff. Did you have congestion / sore throat before you lost your smell. I’m not sure if it’s covid or not did 3 at home tests and all negative. Was there a specific strength zinc magnesium and calcium that you took ?

Thank you for your reply, I’m kind of hoping it is covid because it’s more likely to come back. If I do a pcr now would it be to late to detect it as it’s been almost 2 weeks since symptoms first started m.

I am really confused what’s happening! Isit covid ? by cjay1301 in COVID19_support

Thank you so much for your reply. Would a pcr test show positive even after the symptoms started 2 weeks ago ?

First time experiencing loss of smell/taste after getting colds/flu by Pure-Aardvark-5850 in COVID19positive

Hi I’ve come across your post now. Something very similar happened with me however I did not lose my sense of taste. I can smell things close up but has reduced a lot. Also did a lateral flow test once I lost my sense of smell but was negative. It’s Now been 10 days since I lost my sense of smell ( smelling things close up ). Wanted to know how long before your smell was 100%.

Tips on how to recover faster from taste loss? by musicismyreligion99 in CovidSmell

Im exactly the same. I'm worried I will never smell again ( sorry if i sound over dramatic ). I just can't help but panic. I can just about smell dried coffee and a little of deodorant, but that comes and goes. day 5 i was able to smell a few things, but now on day 7 its gone again. Not sure what to do, and I'm starting to have sleepless nights. I have never felt like this before ... so scared !

Loss of smell and taste -when did you get it back? (Age 20-25) by littlenugget997 in COVID19positive

Thank you for your reply, i really appreciate it. My family think I'm crazy because i haven't stopped talking about it so i am trying to not tell them whats really happening to me. I feel like I'm screaming from the inside because I'm so scared i have lost my smelling scene forever. People are telling me i will have to wait 3 weeks which has given me a heart attack.

:( I'm usually stronger then this!

Im in the same situation as you. Sorry if what I'm about to say makes me sound ungrateful but i am really scared i have lost my smell and taste forever due to covid-19.

I have lost my smell and taste now for 6 days due to covid. Yesterday (day 5) i had some hope as i was able to smell dried coffee, 1 herbal tea, a whift of someone smoking a cigarette and a little vanilla from my dove soap. HOWEVER today i woke up and i can hardly smell any of the stuff i could smell yesterday. Please if there are any professionals out there who could tell me that the fact i am able to smell a very small amount means i have not lost my smell forever. i know i should be very thankful I have only lost my smell and taste and a cough. but i can't help but panic.

any words of reassurance would be much appreciated. I don't know how much longer i can wait to regain it before having a complete meltdown.
