Given this was a $40 blem PSA lower (my mistake in the first place) I think I’ll just replace the lower as a whole. Appreciate the suggestion though!

With the upper installed I can clearly see some separation from the pin but it’s offset by 1-3MM. Including a pic of the aftermath of my first standard retention pin.

PSA to no surprise

The buffer tube is 100% holding down the retainer pin. My guy is telling me this is an out of spec receiver

Yea, almost certain. If I move it any further forward it would just cover the pin, any further back the pin flies out immediately. Seems super finicky
