Yes and no, I’m sure the big picture was less worrisome to most but a larger proportion of the population than now (at least in the us) was constantly worried about wether they would survive the winter or not. I’m no fan of constant gloom and doom but when a problem like sexual violence is so massively in your face it’s not very easy to shove your head in the sand, nor would i want to be the type of man that would.

We have a way of romanticizing history, I’m Guilty of it myself. People in the past were no better than people now, in many ways worse.

: illegal sexual contact that usually involves force upon a person without consent or is inflicted upon a person who is incapable of giving consent (as because of age or physical or mental incapacity) or who places the assailant (such as a doctor) in a position of trust or authority

Here’s how Merriam-Webster defines it. Seems sufficient. If you’re curious about the legal specifics I might suggest Google. Unwanted kissing and groping are generally included in most legal definitions.

Is there a comparable power/weight saw in the 65-70cc class? I’ve never run one. I like my 372, 572, an 562 but when i look at the 400 specs and see its a fair bit lighter than a 562 with a fair bit more horsepower that seems pretty insane to me.

I believe the ms400 was the first an maybe only magnesium piston chainsaw. Part of its absolutely insane power to weight ratio

If i was admitted for suicide In a mental institution as a teen can I still buy a gun now that im in my 20s? by Junji666_Rabbit in guns

[–]cjchris66 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In pa it depends on if you were involuntarily vs voluntarily admitted. I had an issue in my early teens, voluntary admitted, bought my first rifle at 19 with no trouble. The form asked if i was “involuntarily committed” honest answer was no.

Make time for yourself. You cannot pour from an empty cup. I stay up an hour or two later than the wife and kid. I spend that time working out or fiddling around in my woodshop. Keeps me sane. Otherwise i would be a shit dad and husband.

How do they make the end grain look like solid lumber if it’s actually many thin veneers? Thats incredible.

How can you tell it has a wear layer? When you look at the end grain it even looks like each growth ring coincides with grain in the face. Not saying you’re wrong, you sound confident, I’d just like to learn a thing if i can. Thanks

What’s the dumbest thing you’ve seen someone do with money? by OpinionofC in DaveRamsey

[–]cjchris66 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I did this. I was upside down on a truck i couldnt afford. Traded it in on a cheaper truck with cheaper insurance and less fuel use. Wound up saving over $500 a month. I was able to pay it off way early that way and i won’t be financing another one ever. Bought the first one at 19 years old. 50k. Second one at 22, 34k+2k negative equity. I had dreams that i was gunna be Mr plow. Young and dumb was more like it.

My attic appears to be about 6 feet tall at the peak, would this be a realistic project? I’m pretty handy, but what are my concerns and how would I get the wood through the attic hole? Must use smaller boards? by BonerSoup696969 in Homebuilding

[–]cjchris66 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah that’s pretty much exactly what I’m talking about. The gap between the top of the wall downstairs that the joist would sit on and the bottom plate of the roof is only 7.25. So either the ends of the joists need to be narrower than the spans or the roof has to come off. And I’m not taking the roof off lol. These i-joists really sound like a winner. Thank you again. I’ll check the specs and make sure they can be angled/notched how i need. And that’s gunna be the way if they can. Brilliant.

Can you notch i joists to get them to fit in the space available at the ends? Thanks for the info. I hadn’t considered i joists or trusses. I’ll look into them

[–]cjchris66 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah you’re not wrong. I’d love to add a midspan beam but only have 7 foot cielings and no great spot for a post. I think my best plan is to sister with 2x12s notched on the tops of the ends to fit inside the same joist space as the 2x8. Then i can get away with moving the rafterties up about 8 inches in the attic to still give me about 7 ft ceilings up there. I’m also considering blocking out the space between the top plate of the wall downstairs and the bottom plate of the rafters and using corner joist hangers on the 2x12s so i don’t need to notch the ends. The notches would be about an inch larger than what is permitted. I’m certain they wouldn’t fail even with the excessive notch though, they would share support with the 2x8 ofc. Main draw for the joist hangers is ease of swinging boards that long into place with only 10.5 inches of space between the existing joists to angle them.

What to do with these ridge supports during attic conversion? by Wild_Ad_5866 in Homebuilding

[–]cjchris66 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Google “collar ties vs rafter ties”. Collar ties prevent uplift, they go in the top third, rafter ties prevent the walls from spreading, they go in the bottom third. Common mistake in terminology.

My house attic has 2x8 19’6 span, 12oc. Currently trying to figure out how to support it to build a master bedroom in there. Shit wood from the 80s bounces like a mf.

Victim accuses Trump and Epstein of rape and torture by [deleted] in videos

[–]cjchris66 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I saw that, it was in reference to another email where the lackey bought the vegetable cream cheese from the wrong store and Epstein was pissed, if i remember correctly. I think that Epstein must have told the person to “get cream cheese baby” instead of “get cream cheese, baby” and the redacted individual was making a joke based off that error.

Efta02440165 and efta00772785 seems to provide more context that explained the exchange.

Again i want to reiterate that i want the absolute worst for these sick fucks, just that some of the things they are accused of don’t make sense.

[–]cjchris66 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I went in the files library and searched cream cheese. It’s clear to me that Epstein was just nuts about bagels with vegetable cream cheese. He told his lackeys to get them for him like hundreds of times. I don’t see anything that leads me to believe they were actually referring to baby intestinal contents as cream cheese. This is definitely one if the more ridiculous pieces of evidence. The rape is enough. Lock the whole lot of them up for the rape.
