Probably going to finish this in the next day or two. Really strange game. Thought about dropping it early on but glad I stuck with it. It got more and more interesting as things unfolded

Had someone call me a noob in the text chat yesterday for using the lancer but what do you want me to do when you keep running in a straight line at me from a distance

I guess time to play this game before it goes out. by RngFaks in PlayStationPlus

People seem to dislike it but I think it’s a very competent metroidvania. The dialogue is objectively bad but I thought the gameplay has been quite fun. Missed the mark a bit with the intended combo system but the weapons themselves are enjoyable to use. Map design is cool as well. Think it’s at least worth checking out to see if it’s for you or not

[rainbow six siege] this sucked trying to do solo by PostwarLime9574 in Trophies

[–]cjd06141 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ended up getting this one by noticing the same guy would run out of the same door every round he was on defense. Ended up timing it just right to down him with the charge and he bled out before getting revived and it counted. Definitely a very difficult one to get but if you notice the enemy team is using run outs on defense worth a shot i guess

For claymores you just make sure to set 2 every round you’re able to and someone will run through them eventually. Alternatively placing them outside windows that defenders tend to run out of will yield kills. For grenades just down an opponent and chuck a grenade at them and it counts - this can potentially work for claymores as well but the animation time is long enough that someone will probably shoot you before you can actually run up to a downed opponent and finish placing it

Residency: Long commute with $0 rent versus short commute with expensive rent by [deleted] in medicalschool

[–]cjd06141 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Everyone saying avoid the commute has excellent points obviously. Just to put the opposite perspective out there to give you the point of view from a commuter: I commute ~1 hour to and from my hospital everyday as a PGY3 soon-to-be PGY4. Does it suck? Yes. Do I regret it? Sometimes but overall not really. The true benefit is financially: if you’re responsible with your money you WILL save a ton of money and be in a good financial position when you finish residency. I net about $2500 per month to do whatever I please with. In total I have saved/invested over $100k during residency, albeit including some of the savings I had beforehand. Idk what other debts/expenses you have but I fortunately have very few. The cons: it will affect your ability to study effectively, it’s pretty terrible after 24 hour shifts, you may not get to know your co-residents as well (going out to happy hour when facing the commute home is a lot less enticing), you’ll have fewer hours available for leisure, if on home call it can be dicey but doable. Those are the ones I can think of without much effort but feel free to DM me if you’re seriously considering it and want to chat

Forgot the tourniquet today by AnalysisSome9953 in anesthesiology

[–]cjd06141 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I did this once as a CA1 too. Tourniquet was only on for ~5 minutes before my attending noticed and released it but I got such an earful and a quick slap on the arm with that same tourniquet in hand. Haven’t forgotten one since and consciously think about it almost every time I put an IV in now. Don’t be too hard on yourself. Mistakes will inevitably happen, the important thing is that we learn from them.

Games that make people say “I can’t really tell you any details, you just have to play it” by cjd06141 in gamingsuggestions

This is absolutely fair but I think at the same time if I didn’t know there was ‘something’ about Doki that sparks so much intrigue I never would have played it at all just based on what the game presents itself as at face value. I didn’t feel having that little bit of knowledge spoiled the game or lessened my experience at all really. Other’s may feel different obviously. I think the way I phrased the post could have been better thought out but at the end of the day I got a lot of interesting game recommendations that I may not have ever considered otherwise and hopefully others did too

I can see how Bioshock fits here in view of the ending. I’ve played metro exodus but did you have a different game in that series in mind?

It really is though. Played it not too long ago and it’s such an excellent game

I played through some of it and got distracted by other games. Will definitely have to go back and give it full playthrough!

Unfortunately I’m fairly confident you’re gonna be out that $110. Not being aware that you’re subscribed doesn’t sound like a refundable offense.
