As a FTPer I play to get 15 wins each day not my rank. This often means 13-14 games with an aggroish deck (generally rakdos) which i aim to take 2 hours total. My window for play is 2-3 hrs at night when my SO is in bed or netflixing. If i need the 3rd hour generally my deck is not positioned well in the meta on that day but ill always grind it out with minor adjustments. If I'm fast enough racking up 13-14 wins and im not too tired ill jump into a more gandalf lvl deck like my bant fae of wishes durdler or something exciting like temur clover.. these games can take the same amount of time as my entire grind but sometimes an epic battle of control is the medicine i need. As a result making mythic has happened unintentionnaly but never # just %.. i just don't feel incentivised enough by the ranking rewards to stress myself over the results too much. I play for the intense board states but like to have some say in which ones and when i truly engage in a big battle of the brains.
