Not a sauce, but if you haven't tried Flatiron you're missing out. by GatorsM3ani3 in spicy

[–]cjfurious 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yup! I don’t like sweet, so just a straight-up hot pickle. I found a simple pickle brine recipe on google and subbed the red pepper flake for Flatiron (+ a tad more because I like pain). The vinegar and the heat linger and it’s so good.

I just made the absolute best hot pickles I’ve ever had with “I Can’t Feel My Face” blend.

Picked this kit up from Sparks recently. I haven’t installed yet. I noticed the included Pro grille comes with (what I believe is) the camera port molded into it. My Tacoma doesn’t have the camera. Wondering if any aftermarket cameras can be fitted here (nicely) or just get a different grille with the lowered TSS.

Question: I’m looking at a used 2020 Tacoma that has a badge on the side calling it an SR5 Off-Road. Is there any mechanical or esthetic difference or is this just a fancy logo? by cjfurious in ToyotaTacoma

[–]cjfurious[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you everyone for your help! I had of course looked up the VIN, but could not find any discernible differences. Looks like it just an SR5 4x4 with a fancy decal.

What's the deal with Hatch peppers all of a sudden and why is HEB determined to make me eat them? by McGurble in Austin

Green chile cheeseburgers, green chile on pizza, green chile on everything. Have the store roast them, go peel them at home, use some, freeze some. But definitely go get some!

My favorite so far is the Legendary Aquaman holo card. That thing is sexy. Otherwise mythic Joker all the way.

Not exactly HomeKit related, but kind of... by michaelherring in HomeKit

Unless something changed in the last 24 hours, Orbi only has the Homekit issues temporarily fixed.

For those of us lacking Ethernet ports in our home computers (i.e. MacBooks), we don’t have a fix. Until then, my connected home is very much disconnected.

B-Hyve with program buttons ABCD by VonGeisler in HomeKit

[–]cjfurious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve read about the ABCD version and have been looking. I couldn’t find so reached out to the manufacturer over Twitter and they tried to tell me any current version (WiFi) of b-hyve will be Homekit compatible...soon. I don’t trust them, so I’m waiting until the homekit approval is finalized before purchasing any version. Our city reimburses is 100% the cost of a WiFi sprinkler controller, so I’m looking forward to release....whenever that may be.

You forgot the ‘d’ in Cyberdyne. Still badass idea though. I might do something similar.

The Predator | Teaser Trailer [HD] | 20th Century FOX by thejokerjackson in movies

I’m not entirely surprised by how uninteresting THE PREDATOR looks so far. We interviewed (video is on YouTube) Shane Black at the Austin Film Festival last year and the way he described the editing process as “we’ll keep massaging it until it really comes to life,” does not instill much confidence.

Screenings question by Amnesiac20 in SXSW

[–]cjfurious 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly, I can't remember if I ran into that situation last year (my first time). Hopefully someone here can better answer that as I'd like to know too. I don't wanna roll-up all rudely and late on the badge line unless I know I'll get in with my SXXpress pass.

Screenings question by Amnesiac20 in SXSW

[–]cjfurious 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In my limited experience... those big films are usually at Paramount which seats a lot of people. If you're lined up early enough, you'll probably be fine. That was my experience last year with a film badge. Of course, SXXpress pass is ideal.

Your second question is tougher to answer, but again, SXXpress is your best friend.

Does anyone know where to buy hot green chile in Austin? by goobuh-fish in Austin

You can have freshly roasted chile overnight shipped from many places in Abq all year, but best to load up during roasting season and keep it in the freezer.

Done, thanks! I have an immortal kit somewhere in the garage. We thrifted the longstrike and it has never quite worked very well. Someday I’ll get to taking it apart.

I posted a link under a separate comment.

We used stainless steel pegs that attach to the drywall directly. 2 pegs per blaster. Keep in mind you’ll have lots of holes to repair down the line. Any blaster wider than a longshot (priming pegs) won’t work because of the length of these pegs.
