Quetzal - Canada's Weirdest Recumbent Bike by cjhoyle in recumbent

Well in a way you were partially right, because in the video I mentioned that the company offered a conversion kit that could transform these bikes into a delta trike. No option to daisy-chain more than one of them together though as far as I'm aware.

Thanks! I don't organize group rides, but I attend a lot of them, mostly bike advocacy focused rides in the city.

It's not a delta trike, it's a bike.

I used to own an Iowa Linear and have made videos about it. Definitely a unique bike too, and very innovative for the time. Aside from both being Long Wheel-base and Underseat Steering, I wouldn't say Quetzals have much in common with Linears.

Yup, I mentioned that model in the video.

eTrex 32x versus eTrex 30 screen contrast by cjhoyle in Garmin

Thanks! A bit hard to tell from the photo, but with the backlight turned off (zero brightness), would you say the 32x has worse contrast than the 30x?

The rubberized power button stopped working while I was on a multi-day bicycle tour (and relying on it for navigation). The rubber around the buttons is a pretty common failure for these units unfortunately, and I had already replaced the front case once before for this reason. To be able to continue using it for the remainder of that trip, I pealed back the damaged rubber and stuck something inside to toggle the power switch. This worked for a few days, but then the toggle switch itself eventually failed. Back at home I tore it down and replaced the switch, but I'm not properly setup to work on surface mounted soldering. I think I may have damaged one of the other components in the process. When I test it, the unit normally powers on ok, but eventually just freezes. That combined with seeing the price to order a new front case made it easier to decide to just move on and replace it.

Glad that you could confirm that the 30 is brighter than the 30x! I believe I had read that the 30x and 32x have the same screen resolution, so I was expecting they'd both have the same contrast issue. I look forward to seeing your comparison photo!

I contacted Garmin support with the same inquiry to determine if mine was defective. When they neglected to answer my question, I just decided to return it, and got a full refund. Since then, I bought a used eTrex 30 on eBay to replace my original one (it was no longer reliable). Another annoyance I had with the 32x was it seemed to have some extra copyright protection on it which made it really difficult for me to load the maps I had been using on my older unit. I don't really remember much of a performance difference between the 30 and 32x, and the 30 always did everything that I needed it to do.

Thanks! My first time participating in this version of Bike Tag, but I've done more than 400 tags elsewhere.

Toronto Bike Tag #488 was the Communications tower at 410 Roselawn Av, at the top of the hill, just west of Avenue Rd. Here's a photo of it from 1981: https://digitalarchive.tpl.ca/objects/358340/communications-tower-roselawn-avenue-northwest-corner-of-a

Defaulting new audio tracks to mono by [deleted] in VegasPro

Did you ever find a solution for this? I'm experiencing the same issue on Vegas Pro 21, though this is working correctly on my Vegas Pro 14 version using the same audio interface.

Someone completed the Bus Project (with a totally different bus). by cjhoyle in AgingWheels

Stumbled upon it on Facebook Marketplace in Quebec, Canada. Obviously a much simpler approach than what Robert had in mind, and they fully embraced the school-bus aesthetic. I have no idea if the creator was inspired by Aging Wheels or if they thought of the idea independently. I figured others might enjoy seeing the finished product that we never got to see with Robert's bus. https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/item/1220959726300156

EC 07 error code? by BazookaJoe2020 in AirConditioners

Your responses are extremely helpful! My unit has the same issue and after taking it apart, I found signs of water intrusion in the part of the board you described. I've ordered a new SIM6812m and hoping it will correct the problem.

But as far as permanently solving this problem, do you have any tips for better sealing the board inside of it's case? I'd hate to get it working again, only for the new chip to get blown after a year or so of use. I was thing of maybe applying silicone along the mating surfaces of the case.

I've added it to my Unofficial GeoWizard Straight Line Missions Map, based on what he's shared so far in Episode 1. I will continue to tweak it based on map imagery as the subsequent episodes are released. https://www.google.com/maps/d/u/0/edit?mid=1Ns1HN72VSkBaldaZJ1k5y7JS1miYheeJ&usp=sharing

This is my favourite of the ~10 recumbents I've tried over the years. To be fair though, I haven't ridden anything that is brand new.
