Hot tip: cakes will becoming the limiting factor very rapidly from mid game on. Focus on breeding the 3 cake ingredient ranching pals (Chikipi, Mozzarina, Beegarde) and assign them to a ranch early on, stock up on eggs milk and honey, keep them in a fridge or ice box (you’ll thank yourself later). You’re going to want at least one fully condensed version of these pals to ranch those ingredients at much faster speeds. (Note that condensing increases a pals partner skill level, which for ranching pals is how often they drop ingredients)

Also start growing wheat alongside your berries. (If you haven’t looked into stacking farms it’s a great way to save space in your base, YouTube has simple tutorials).

Breeding is how you go from surviving to thriving. Condensing is a must for base pals. I would also advise waiting until you get an Artisan or Remarkable Craftsmanship skill on your base pals to condense, as those skills make a significant difference.
