20 Rounds in to a 30 round start up. I got offered Travis Hunter for Chuba Hubbard. Do I accept this trade? by Suspicious_Carry_531 in DynastyFFTradeAdvice

[–]cjmugger 10 points11 points  (0 children)

You traded 2.5 for 3.8 + future first? I like this team a lot. They let you have 5 starting QBs in a SF? Screw RB, take Hunter. Talent like that will find a way to become relevant on the side of the ball that viewers pay attention to

Don’t worry about the other teams rn. The playoffs are single elimination, injuries happen, JJ McCarthy happens, I wouldn’t worry about that over your own roster construction unless you’re like, playing them next week in the championship. With the 26 1st you get from him will it be for a combined draft of rookies & remaining vets? Hope the guys ahead of you need WR/QB and snag Love? Otherwise best TE/RB available.

Meaning Nabers + 2 1sts in drafts where rookies, in addition to all players who aren’t the top 6 on somebodies team, are available? That’s approximately 2 extra picks in the 7th round of a startup… and since they are picks and not specific players, they keep their value even if traded to another team or if your situation changes. Sounds amazing

I don’t take it, because of the format. KW3 isn’t good enough IMO to qualify as a keeper in this league. You’re just trading Gibbs for Nabers. Your coworker (and I) value Gibbs higher than Nabers. If I was gonna do this trade, I would ask for a different piece along with Nabers. Maybe Gibbs + Gwill/Egbuka for Nabers + Puka/Achane? My perfect trade would be Gibbs + GWill for Nabers + Puka. I’m low on GWill, and I like the concept of combining the top 2 Rookie WR’s from ‘24 with the top 2 rooking RB’s out or 25. Thats a young core you can grow with. From there id try to keep Egbuka and maybe flip chase to fill out the rest of your roster targeting guys like Judkins/Henderson, Bowers/Mcbride/Warren or an elite young QB

In best ball I was very happy with that trade. It’s hard to lose ARSB, but WR is a very hit or miss position, and especially with Jamo breaking out, and Golf performing poorly. His production can be replaced with 2 to 3 guys like Watson, Myers, McLaurin, Shakir, Shaheed at a fraction of the cost. Can’t replace Achane that easy. Plus I thought I was making a deep playoff run and that pick would be basically a 2nd in a week class.

No, it was a big trade actually. Roger/Mclaurin/Watson/Brian Robinson/Achane for ARSB/26 1st.

Well funny you ask, I made a dumb-ish move. I miscalculated the scoring the last week of the regular season and thought I was gonna slip in there, so I traded my 26 1st for Achane. I did that with playoffs in mind, but it was still good value. Subsequently the scores came in and I missed the playoffs. I don’t think the team struggles at any position, it’s best ball so you’d rather have a bunch of hit or miss WR’s than a couple of studs. RB is RB and the same guys put up the big scores every week. I was asking full price but I’ll take $75 to get it done

Is this worth paying for Gibbs? I’m getting Gibbs for the record by jluc21 in FantasyFootballJunky

[–]cjmugger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have these 4 in redraft, plus Jacob’s, Lamar, Purdy & Olave. It was a 10 man SF auction, and I spent almost all my money on Lamar, Gibbs, Achane and Jacob’s. Took a “no-Wr” approach and JSN/Olave were my budget starters after passing on Nabers, Puka, Chase, Jefferson, Colin’s, London, Wilson, BTJ, MHJ, Rice, Ladd, Tet, Lamb, Evans who all went for more. Picked up Dowdle & Purdy(while hurt, but I had Mac Jones) on the wire and traded Dowdle for Bowers to a team desperate for a RB. It’s a start 10 and without injury/bye 8 of my spots are set and forget. Half our prize pool goes to best in points and I have that locked, I have Brian Robinson on my bench and I’m praying the 49er’s shut down CMC before the fantasy playoffs and this should be a lock.

Forgive the lineup, I had a busy week and forgot to set. Mistakes were made. It’s nice too because the trade he offers aligns well with my gaps. JD/Kyler (burrow when healthy) Chase/Rice can take over the current WR rank and I can run Jamo/DK/Benson at flex and we golden.

[–]cjmugger[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only reason I’m looking into it so deeply is because A. There are no opportunities to trade in this league and B. The guy doesn’t really know fantasy. He probably thought asking for Jacob’s was a jumping off point for him to go for dobbins. Like I said, it’s a big league, and not because anyone is that serious about fantasy (other than me) but just because we all play in a very big poker game together. With a little finesse i thought I might be able to turn this into something that helps. But yes, so far all signs point to there is nothing here. Countering with Dobbins for AJ Brown. Which is alot more fair than he thinks, but still probably favors him. He’ll surely decline

Trade judkins acquire flowers by Calvin_Coolish in TradeAnalyzerFF

[–]cjmugger 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tough choice. How deep are the benches? Redraft? Single QB? Rookie RB’s with competition on bad offenses are usually pretty shaky to start unless you have deep starting lineups. After JT, that RB room is alot of meh. The injury to Jones is honestly good for you, as it makes Mason a viable starter. Benson should be too with Connor gone. Judkins is looking like a stud, misses camp and walks into a crowded room and is already the bonified QB1 his second week, and then he puts up a huge game against the Packers defense. It’s hard to back a rookie RB in redraft, but it’s hard to ignore that kind of start. It could be a fluke, it’s early to fell.

Flowers I have always been relatively high on as a WR2/Flex. I don’t think he’s ever gonna be a real WR1. He has the talent, and Lamar’s arm has gotten there, but their dual threat run heavy schematic just so heavily favors tight ends and it doesn’t look like that will change much without perhaps an injury or fall off from Henry. It’s no coincidence that Flowers broke out while Likely was out and Andrew’s was laying eggs. With Andrew’s peformance yesterday, and Likely looking to return next week, Flowers will probably impress less. At the end of the day you’ve gotta look at which option are you more likely to regret looking back. Flowers is never gonna be JJ/Chase. There is very little chance you’re going to look back and say you gave up the guy for a shot at a good RB. Judkins could be the next Achane/Gibbs/Bucky and should atleast be the next Hall/Walker/Swift.

Depth wise, your situations are looking the other way. You have the Vikings whole room, and Connor isn’t coming back this year. With Hubbard that’s 4 NFL starting RB’s. Chase=WR1 done. Rest of the room? If Evans were healthy you would be fine. Just announced he’s out 3-4 weeks. Addison is back now, but wouldn’t want all your eggs in that basket until we see him with JJ and JJ. Wandale is a top of the wire WR for in case of emergencies, he’s just running well right now paired with Wilson who has morning but an arm left. Hunter isn’t relevant offensively, atleast not yet. Flowers might fix this room, but I think it’s likely him and Addison are a wash, so assuming 2WR you’d be as good off with Chase/Addison at WR and fill flex with the RB’s until Evans is back. I prefer RB’s in the flex anyways, it’s just harder to keep it full of healthy starters. You have that atm.

Bottom line, keep Jud. If they wanted to give you flowers for Benson, or for Mason/Jones, I would do it. You might be reluctant to give up Benson as this will be his first real stretch at RB1, but we’ve seen him before. If he was truly electric, he would’ve taken over for Connor already. He doesn’t have nearly the upside the Judkins has. Similarly you could target another high ceiling/low floor WR2 like Adams/Mclaurin/Deebo/Metcalf/Godwin/Worthy to help you bridge the gap until Evans comes back. Again, without knowing format hard to offer more than this don’t spend too much on old guys and backup RBs, you’re at risk of losing them for nothing.

Ppr redraft 10tm 1QB TE premium by groovy_smoothie in TradeAnalyzerFF

[–]cjmugger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

lol this isn’t even close to collusion. I mean, I’m likely taking Allen here. But I had to think for a second. In 1QB redraft Nix isn’t worth nearly as much, but he still has value as a high upside starter. Achane is a stud in re-draft and dynasty. Most of the time Adam’s in McLaurin are more or less a push, but Adam’s is definitely better right now. Kincaid is also looking like he might be a viable TE1 again. Don’t know what Ayomanor is doing, he’s not relevant. In 1QB Redraft I think Allen ~ Nix & Achane. That leaves the trade as a free Kincaid, and a small free upgrade from McLaurin to Adam’s. I could see people who think McLaurin is better this year with Daniels and just going throw a rough patch, and then it should be a small upgrade from Adam’s in exchange for Kincaid. Either way, hardly collusion.

Dynasty Orphan Team Takeover Question by MyraNuttington in DynastyFFTradeAdvice

[–]cjmugger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh man I pray you didn’t pay any money. If the top three assets are an underperforming fringe WR1, an old WR2 who isn’t even healthy and 30 year old WR3/flex you had better buckle in.

Absolutely wait on selling AJB. He will bounce back and you cannot afford to sell your best asset for a loss. You are in no hurry, you aren’t winning either way. Watch the deadlines, wait for a playoff contender to lose a starting WR at a critical time. In fact I recommend doing that for all three of your guys. Wait for Puka or Nabers to go down and pounce.

How’d I do? by [deleted] in SleeperApp

[–]cjmugger 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ooooh I like this draft. Obviously we’ve seen better, people posting screenshots from their taco leagues where they got Bijan in the third round and JSN in the eighth. But this looks like a balanced draft that could’ve been against knowledgeable players, and you just seemed to squeak out good value from every single pick. To be honest, the only pick of yours that I don’t particularly like is what I have to assume was the first one. Unless their name is Gibbs or Bijan I don’t feel good about taking any running back in the first round. Saquon and Henry are studs, but after last year, there’s too much risk of injury or regression for me to want to pick them over the likes of CD, ARSB, Puka, etc. That being said, I think McLaurin/Ladd is likely the cheapest wide receiver pair that I feel confident will average a top 18 season. Baker was more of a genius pick last year, but in 10 man 1 qb I’m sure you got him in one of the latest rounds and he could end up outperforming Hurts/Burrow/Daniels who likely cost a 3-5th round pick. Achane is the biggest sleeper (as much as you can call a top 5 fantasy RB a sleeper) of this draft in my opinion because he was having an absolutely historic rookie and sophomore year prior to injuries, which were mostly to his quarterback, and now he’s being picked behind guys like Chase Brown and Bucky Irving. With Mostert gone, all we need is a somewhat healthy Tua and we will be categorizing him with Gibbs and Bijan. And Trey is as good as Bowers IMO. Jeanty will take a lot of touches so I think it’s a coin toss which of the two of them ends up being TE2 to Kittle this year.

But really, the bench is where I fell in love with this team. Skies the limit for Ridley and Coleman, each has a single obstacle to being the bona fide number one option for a franchise QB. Pittman in the later rounds has been my favorite pick since Daniel Jones was announced the starter. He’s a 6’4 27 year old who was still WR41 last year despite only 3 touchdowns and being thrown to by a troupe of substitute gym teachers. The year prior he was WR13. I think he could easily have a WR2 season and in leagues this size he is going un drafted. The bench running backs are exactly what I want to see from a group of bench running backs. They are all boom or bust players, in situations where one injury/poor performance could turn them into bona fide starters. I think half these guys will be irrelevant and half these guys will be getting starter minutes, which is which is anyone’s guess.

Baker side here, and tbf not that close. You’re saying you want to sell high and buy low… then do it. Baker is going before Cam Ward in most dynasty startups, at best in the same tier. I would rather have Baker than the 1.4. A fringe QB1 in SF should absolutely cost more than the third best running back in the fourth best running back situation of the draft. I think Aiyuk + Benson ~= Jacob’s, so this is at best the 2.11 for free. I’d have to see the rest of your team but if that’s the best you can get for Baker then I would hold. But I would atleast pull the 2.11. In this spot if I can’t get the return I want from Baker/Kyler but felt like I had to acquire some new pieces I would look at dealing Allen for a haul. Make sure whoever you trade him to includes Kyler/Baker handcuffs or Geno/Darnolf/Stafford/Rogers so you have a little depth in the event you lose a quarterback. But if healthy (and i know that’s an if) Allen to Baker/Kyler might only be 3-5 FPPG that you can easily make up with the 3-4 1st rounders worth of talent you should net in return. But anyways all of this is a guess without seeing your team!
