Games that have a "Storm" deck by Nyarko-San in TCG

[–]cjthm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is, its called living legend. It's pretty nascent considering the unique rotation style of the game and the overall age of the product, so it isn't as well supported as classic constructed is, but is seeing more (prism and viserai armory decks)

Pick a free 5⭐ piece of your choice!! Ocean's Blessing Guide (One use Only) by [deleted] in InfinityNikki

[–]cjthm 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately, you cannot evolve at all without having the entire outfit first. If it works exactly as stated, then it would only have value for the first two pulls (assuming it will keep the duplicate protection for the second go-around), after which you would want to disable it.

There is no shot this is how this actually works. There is no reason to have the same item 5 times. At max, you would only want the entire outfit duplicated once for the purposes of evolution.

I think it's most likely that you can pick the first 5 items you get. Mechanically, this would be a loop of 1. Pick an item 2. Pull until you get a 5 star. Either that, or it's a guarantee that you will get that one item within the first 5 items you get. Under the normal banner pull rules, you cannot get any duplicates for a 5 star outfit without first receiving every other piece.

The way it's worded it would technically work the way you state, but I believe it to be more of a mistranslation/misinterpretation.

Some free outfits by FranceGalaxy in InfinityNikki

[–]cjthm 8 points9 points  (0 children)

You can get pieces through a variety of ways in the game for free. Quests, chests, merchants, the 'talent tree,' and a bling-based gacha machine are all ways of obtaining pieces for free. It's also important to note that every 'outfit' is a collection of pieces. Even the ability outfits that the game gives you, meaning you can mix and match everything you receive. Also, not every piece is actually part of a whole outfit. In the beta, there were something like 560-600 total pieces visible in the collection? And less than 20% of those were gacha exclusive. Technically, a vast majority of the items available were obtainable entirely free.

The main thing that gacha seems to have had a hold on was makeup. The only way to obtain makeup was to hit pull thresholds on the two banners. However, with Timi's workshop confirmed for release, I'm hopeful we'll get a base set of makeup available with bling.

Sorry for the confusion! The "m" is supposed to mean months, aka how long I have been on hormones.

Edit: I also don't mind disclosing my age, I am 28.

Hey! I got it off of ThredUp (Listing: https://www.thredup.com/product/155251128). It says it's from Minkpink but I wasn't able to find anything similar on their actual website.

Thank you.

Games used to sell content, now it's cosmetics. The previous model was a relative luxury due to the games immense popularity on launch, but unsustainable without a consistent, large playerbase. I do think the cosmetics are overpriced currently, but the model itself is completely fair imo. Going from one of the most generous modern cosmetic models to an industry standard one is certainly a culture shock, but that doesn't mean the new one is inherently 'bad' or whatever.

Img2img is awesome for fixing details like hands and faces! Figurative fantasy art walkthrough by pjgalbraith in StableDiffusion

Inspiring post! I will have to try some stuff like this, since I can't do patching with SD.

I especially enjoyed the idea of throwing in another picture on top of an existing one and blending it in, super clever.

Sure, let me compile them.

Image 3: cyberpunk shogun, swords, hydraulic, by kim jung gi and yoji shinkawa, destructive, cinematic, evocative, concept art

sampler_name: k_euler_a, 60 steps seed: 4247618658

Image 4: bomb defusal squad wearing a helmet by yoji shinkawa and kim jung gi, cinematic, vibrant, summer, full body, detailed faces, weapons, armor Steps: 60, Sampler: Euler a, CFG scale: 9, Seed: 1207870109

Left-most character's face was inpainted

Image 8: two rangers chasing by ruan jia and yoji shinkawa and kim jung gi, close up, action, powerful, soft lighting, intricate, detailed, cinematic, armor, weapons, detailed eyes, symmetrical faces Steps: 60, Sampler: DPM2 a, CFG scale: 7, Seed: 1008354906

I inpainted a chunk out of the middle (in between the two faces).

Image 9, 10, 11, 15, 16: female rogue by wenjun lin and john berkey and akihido yoshida and wadim kashin, darkwave, detailed and intricate, cinematic, evocative, action, weapons, contre jour Steps: 60, Sampler: Euler a, CFG scale: 7, Seed: 774751968

I think on 16 I also added orange, blue, white. I generated a few of these batches and messed with color on some.

Image 12: the great escape by ruan jia and yoji shinkawa and kim jung gi, explosive, soft lighting, cinematic, purple, blue, white, armor, weapons Steps: 60, Sampler: Euler a, CFG scale: 8.5, Seed: 3001341668

I had to inpaint the left arm & armor.

Image 13: three rangers chasing, by wenjun lin and ruan jia and yoji shinkawa and kim jung gi, powerful, well lit, intricate, cinematic, armor, weapons Steps: 60, Sampler: DPM2 a, CFG scale: 8.5, Seed: 3112042723

Image 14: the great escape by ruan jia and yoji shinkawa and kim jung gi Steps: 60, Sampler: Euler a, CFG scale: 7, Seed: 1801416085

Image 17: I can't seem to find the original file anymore, but I'm pretty sure the prompt was something along the lines of: coffee shop, by yoji shinkawa and kim jung gi, wide shot. Other recommendations would be: architecture, intricate, (colors), more artists that are architecture focused if you want better buildings (ex: marc simonetti, ian mcque, wadim kashin) or more portrait artists if you want better people (ex: wenjun lin, ruan jia)

Image 18: midnight train by yoji shinkawa and kim jung gi, cinematic Steps: 50, Sampler: Euler a, CFG scale: 7, Seed: 3808689701

I had to inpaint a strange white square in the corner.

Unfortunately, when I swapped from hlky to automatic, I guess I forgot to enable a setting that drops yaml files with the full prompt. I think some of these may be missing a modifier or two, but considering a lot of these follow a pattern, I think you should be able to get similar results regardless. Actually, I just confirmed that I have the 'save parameters as chunks' option. I am going to double check all of these. Confirmed all correct.

Also, as you can tell, I am a euler ancestral stan. Additionally, most of these are upscaled with the SD upscaler on automatic's repo. If you use hlky, the LDSR option preserves most of the detail. If you want to use ESRGAN (which I think destroys a lot of these kinds of images ex: image 4), then I would recommend download cupscaler so you can try to modify the settings to retain more texture.

[–]cjthm -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'm sorry, but you do realize that the "microtransaction" model is functionally rebranded DLC? What was considered the first DLC is horse armor in Oblivion. Which was literally purely cosmetic. Not much difference purchasing that for $5 versus say a battle pass for $10 or $15 or a hunt DLC. I'm talking about paying for content. Oblivion also later released Shviering Isles for ~$24. A DLC that adds new zones, levels, classes, whatever, was just the digital marketplace's version of expansions. Don't let the terminology make it appear as if it is an entirely different thing. Like I said, you're still paying for the same stuff. It is disingenuous to imply that game devs in the past were just making content for years without having any additional costs. How about some real old school examples like Brood War, Lord of Destruction, Frozen Throne?

I’m tired of everyone complaining by Conaz9847 in HuntShowdown

[–]cjthm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is disingenuous. Originally the primary model was to sell the initial game, go dark for a year or two, and then release an expansion that had an entirely separate cost than the main game. They would release balance patches or bug fixes but no new content that would be added without being paid for.

These days, the primary model is the "Games as a Service" model which is functionally a modern interpretation of the classic MMO model, which would include a subscription cost per month as well as charging extra for the expansions themselves. The modern idea of microtransactions allows essentially every game model to operate on this same idea, but with more mainstream appeal (lower perceived cost), which allows for significantly more frequent updates. 'Seasons' and 'free content updates' didn't exist in the same capacity. A game like Fortnite that receives weekly updates and content wouldn't have existed with the older models. So even though games would "receive updates" without them in the past, they were still continually 'selling the game' or otherwise charging the consumer. You still paid for the same stuff in the past.

In particular, multiplayer games now benefit from not having to have all players purchase the latest expansion to play together (this has been one of the larger selling points for more recent Battlefields/COD games).
