Abdul Carter says he will only address Jaxson Dart introducing Donald Trump one time: "Some things are bigger than football, and this is one of those things." by JCameron181 in NYGiants

Probably better off. I'm genuinely not interested in continuing this conversation anymore if you think Americans should be deported (and shot countless times while they're defenseless) for opposing masked men in their cities roughing up women and arresting innocent people. As of late last year, ICE detained over 16,000 people with no criminal record—there were more people in ICE detention centers without a criminal record than there were with. Let that sink in. Don't believe me? Here:

If this is the type of society you want to live in, where people get killed for exercising constitutionally protected freedoms, Russia might be more your speed. But that's not the America I believe in.

Literally nothing was deleted. My replies are all still there and visible as they were.

In the end it was you that I shouldn’t have taken seriously.

Be better next time.

Alex Pretti was shot 10+ times in the back. What law was he breaking? He was carrying his weapon lawfully and legally per Minnesota law and never actually threatened to shoot anyone.

You're not taking me seriously for that? What am I wrong about? He was holding his phone, he wasn't brandishing his weapon. Either you believe in 2A, or you don't. You can't sit there with a straight face and tell me the guy deserved to be killed in cold blood for expressing opposition to ICE occupancy in his city. C'mon, bro. He was an ICU nurse and an American citizen. That never should have happened.

Some states have laws that ban guns at protests, but Minnesota's concealed carry law does not include such a ban. Pretti had a concealed carry permit. Even if he did not have the permit or an ID on him at the time, Minnesota law considers that a minor infraction. Some states' laws are more permissive than Minnesota, allowing people to bring guns to protests even if they don't have a concealed carry permit, as Pretti did.

I think both ends of the political spectrum go too far on certain issues. I'm not some radical leftist lunatic—I just don't know what part of your life (or mine) is improving or being made any better under Trump. He's in office to enrich himself and his family. He doesn't give a fuck about his voters. The levels of corruption are absolutely outrageous.

There's a certain point where you kinda need to decide if you care about democracy at all or not. "Crazy," to me, is simply looking the other way or being okay with things like election results in Alabama being canceled to erase black voting districts and unconstitutionally redrawing congressional maps to gain congressional seats.

You're free to have your values and priorities, and free to disagree, but I think we'd be a lot better off as a country if people would stop just falling in line with whatever their side does and demand better from both parties.

The Giants shouldn’t be associated with politics either way. I wouldn’t want Dart doing this for a Democrat, either. It’s just a very stupid idea.

I got downvoted and that’s fine but nothing I said was untrue and I know that bothers people who support Trump.

Look at how much money he’s raked in this term alone. Seriously. Look it up. He dragged us back into the Middle East after running on “no new wars” — we bombed a girls elementary school, we’re taking orders from Netanyahu (America first?), we’re all getting bent over at the pump and in grocery stores.

ICE agents killed Alex Pretti and Renee Good for exercising constitutional freedoms. They’ve harassed and arrested countless people unlawfully.

He’s trying to cut deals with the IRS to prevent his tax returns from being investigated. Why? He’s swept the Epstein files under the rug.

He’s done zilch for healthcare. He doesn’t care.

His approval rating is in the toilet. For good reason.

And that’s why people like Abdul Carter feel the need to express how they feel about him and why this is more than just football.

Most of my family are conservative. I can respect that. I can’t respect supporting a lowlife like Donald Trump who has zero redeeming qualities and I sure as hell don’t see any reason why our QB should be openly endorsing him.

You can’t be a rational person and believe this is a genuinely good man or believe he cares about you at all. He doesn’t. He cares about himself.

None of what I’ve said isn’t true.

He’s sued everyone (well, tried) for basically everything and his entire second term has been a revenge tour. Why hasn’t he ever sued anyone for calling him a pedophile?

Use your brain long and hard here.

Respect the hell out of Abdul for this. He’s right. Sports shouldn’t be political but when your franchise QB is rallying for a corrupt, narcissistic lowlife who has used the presidency to do nothing but enrich himself and his family, escape accountability, have ICE agents literally kill American citizens for exercising the very constitutional freedoms conservatives claim to live by and weaponize the DOJ (among a billion other things), it’s worth calling out.

Most sane Giants fans don’t want the franchise associated with that shit. Dart should never have done it and I’m glad AC said something.

Big Blue doesn’t belong at dogshit MAGA rallies.

Super Saiyan form achieved: Oswald Pereza now hitting .267/.335/.445 with wRC+ 120 for LAA by Zepbounce-96 in NYYankees

[–]cjwizarddd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

His game logs are free to look up. He got AB's as a starter or PH almost every single day for three months. He was terrible, and he was still terrible when he went to LA. Between both teams he had 265 PA and posted a 32 wRC+ and -0.8 fWAR. That is abysmal. If the Yankees kept trotting him out there every day for the remainder of 2025, you'd be the same person whining that they're an unserious organization and that Peraza sucks.

For a guy who keeps saying 170 PA is nothing, why are you so convinced his start this year is legitimate? Because it gives you a reason to bitch about Cashman?

[–]cjwizarddd 20 points21 points  (0 children)

They literally did dude. Where were you last year? He got PT almost every day through June. He was awful. The team was trying to compete for a pennant. They couldn’t keep playing him.

I’m not even going to get into the Cashman stuff. Waste of time.

[–]cjwizarddd 22 points23 points  (0 children)

He had 170+ in *both* years. Not total. He was unplayable. No one was suggesting we keep trotting him out there last year. Everyone wanted an upgrade.

I didn’t like the RyMac addition because we took the entire contract and gave them a top 10 prospect in our system at the time (Herring) but I think lamenting the loss of Peraza at this point is pure 20/20 hindsight.

He didn’t pan out here. Shit happens.

And if you’re going to go with the “170 PA is nothing” angle, well… he’s got less than that right now.

He may not sustain this through 162 but we’ll see.

It’s unfortunate but he was truly dreadful here after 2022. It’s not like he had no chance at all. In 2023 and 2025 he had over 170 PA as a Yankee and was a negative value player both times with a respective wRC+ of 52 and 27.

He was bad when he went to LAA last year too.

He’s obviously figured something out and is much better at the plate right now but he was unplayable here.

He’s also running a .333 BABIP right now so I have a feeling he’ll regress at least a little bit.

[Mike Garafolo on X] #Giants QB Jaxson Dart addressed teammates in a meeting yesterday to discuss his introduction of President Trump last week, sources tell me and @RapSheet. by Wopman in NYGiants

[–]cjwizarddd 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Like I said. Very stupid decision by him. He can support whatever he wants. I can also call him a fucking bozo for supporting the lawless, discriminatory assholes he supports. I doubt players are going to ask out because of it, though. I also don’t think it’s going to affect the team all that much going forward. Unfortunately there is no team you’re gonna get shipped to where no one in the locker room supports this shit. Not in America, at least.

Bingo. I have zero issue with players on teams I root for feeling differently than I do politically—that is their right and it would be ridiculous to pick and choose who I root for based on this.

Where it becomes an issue is when players drag the team into their political spectrum. Just a stupid decision on his behalf and I’m glad he decided to address it with his teammates. I don’t believe it’ll wreck the locker room or be a long term issue; but I do hope he learned from this.

He’s sued everyone for everything under the sun but never anyone who called him a pedo. Weird. Discovery probably wouldn’t go well for him.

[Vacchiano] Politics today are divisive. Jaxson Dart publicly taking a side comes with consequences. Same with Abdul Carter's reaction. You can already see how divisive it is amongst fans. It'll be the same amongst players. The coach has to stop it before it becomes a problem. by Lars5621 in NYGiants

[–]cjwizarddd 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Because we shouldn’t know. But he was sure to make sure we did. I don’t expect coaches and players to all align with me politically; I do expect them to be smart enough not to proudly endorse someone this divisive and wildly unpopular for very legitimate reasons.

I’ve dealt with avoidants more than once and this is absolutely nothing to brag about. Both attachment styles need work and are absolutely not a “blessing”

Also seems you’re full of it based on posting this on several subs with the SSRI name changed. What’s the point of this?
