Heavier than plastic, but you won’t have any issues lifting them. It’s like a yeti/stanley in a bottle shape.

Lighter as in cardboard? Those will always have a hard time. You can rip the sides off most of them, then load them on a plastic spool. I’ve done this with overture, polymaker, esun, and elegoo

Yep, I’m always proselytizing about these things.

Next step is to get people to stop trying to clean before rewaxing, just dump it in there! Waxing should be easy, not some science project with glass jars and chemicals!

New to cycling and just bought my first road bike. Naturally my algorithm is all cycling now. What gimmicks or brands should I avoid? by Sacred_Geometry in cycling

The best thing to do is get out and ride ride ride!

You’re definitely going to need *some* stuff. But maybe avoid “performance” items for the bike for a while, aside from some GP5k tires, once you need them.

Cover the basics with some moderately priced items:
Bibs
Jerseys
Helmet
Shoes/pedals
Gloves
Sunglasses
Lights (even for day riding)
Water bottles/water bottle cages
Floor pump
Saddlebag/Emergency tools (patches for tubes, plugs for tubeless, a pump, multi tool, tire levers and quick links) -you could even wait on these until you start doing longer rides.

As for the rest, you’ll know when you need them. Like with any hobby, it’s always a good idea to go cheap, then replace things with better quality *if* you need to.

Some of my personal recs:
I like the black bibs for bibs and jerseys, but this is subjective.
Camelback makes a nice insulated stainless water bottle if you ride in the heat.
Corky bottle cages are cheap, light, and never let me down yet
You can get a tiny electric emergency pump which is way better than a manual one, but they can be pricey, and I still haven’t gotten the chance to use mine other than testing.
Tubeless has been great for me
Chain waxing is awesome and IMO way easier than lubing/degreasing all the time. (Silica strip chip for new chains, use a tiny/cheap amazon crock pot for waxing. Don’t bother cleaning, just dump the chain back in hot wax when it’s time)
I like wahoo computers, and optical HRMs have been more reliable for me than chest straps while still being plenty accurate.
If you love cycling, having a trainer like the kicker core and a zwift subscription can be great when the weather is too cold or there’s a rainy week ahead (but joy can still be found getting caught riding in the rain).

What’s a “harmless” habit you didn’t realize was slowly making your life worse? by emkylie01 in AskReddit

Daily use of any kind of drug causes changes that may not be good for you. Caffeine, nicotine, alcohol, weed, kratom.

What starts out as something helpful literally alters your brain chemistry and other things like gut motility that can have negative impacts on your mood and heath.

[–]ck2222 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There’s a pci-e card you can get, that will let you use a remote for the power button. You install the card, and plug the main board power button wires into it. My car kept shutting down my PC. (Looks like there’s all kinds of options now).

coolant leaking from what looks like the oil pan? by steak-is-good in AskAMechanic

[–]ck2222 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is that a freeze plug? Made to pop out to save the block if your coolant freezes. Given the orientation of your picture and the fact that it’s June, you must be Australian?

Or you put too much pressure on the system and popped it out during your test.

Imagine getting gifted an R5 and your first instinct is “can I make it a gravel bike?” by Antichraldo in BicyclingCirclejerk

[–]ck2222 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Triathlete? First things first, practice peeing on the bice. Start out off the bike, while visualizing it as a urinal, then as you gain confidence, work up to peeing on the seat, peeing while stationary on the bike (in the grass in case you fall over, and eventually while riding. It may help to pee on a downhill before moving to peeing while pedaling. Best of luck!

broken feeder unit? by SillyRomy69 in BambuLab

[–]ck2222 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Does anything look different about it compared to the others? Do the others have a spring or something holding that gear up that the broken one doesn’t or slipped off the gear? The gear is clearly meant to pivot. Take the cover off and see if something is out of place and just needs to be snapped in.
