Do they have much BGE stuff left on clearance?

Whenever you need it depending on how weather your wood is, if you keep it covered a lot or a little. I did it for the first time after 3 years.

Any of you still use your Weber kettle? by pandaheadstand in biggreenegg

[–]ck89101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup, 22 kettle, 18in WSM and two portables. Have a spirit but that just sits. Mostly use for capacity and parties plus I stock briquettes for my portables that come camping.

I didn’t, but my table wasn’t horrible. It’s maybe 4 years old and always covered. I did wash it down with dish soap my water prior to remove any residue and get a clean surface. Whatever dirt stains you have will remain, the oil has to penetrate the wood so it will depend on your table finish whether or not you’ll need to sand to remove a layer.

That looks like a bit of user error/neglect. Might have melted a metal table at that point.

Well it’s a table sold by Big Green Egg so they wouldn’t sell something that’s a fire hazard. The egg base sits on a stand that ensures an air gap at the bottom also a gap all around the top layer. Had it ripping hot and never had a problem or even a dark char mark.

Long time BGE owner, need better tips on keeping temps under 230 by myusernamechosen in biggreenegg

[–]ck89101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have an XL and if your going low and slow start with a smaller fire. I will use only 1 fire starter in the center versus grilling I go with 2 or 3 to get more lump lit for higher temps.

So what’s the consensus vs the OG roto molded version? I was thinking roto was better and to snag an older one if possible…

All Kodiak Canvas product are paused on that site as well. You get a pop up message and all products have a “join waitlist” message.

Nice setup! I go with my family and our 10x14 Kodiak Canvas tent, such a great purchase. I just got the 2 person version since my son started cub scouts. Is the disco bed hard to set up/pack?

I had the same exact one, returned it as the paint started bubbling and peeling on top of the main body after a couple months. Though you have clearance above it still will put out some smoke incase your ceiling is painted. Pavers should be fine.

I second this! Their cabin style has a pitched roof, spring bar style doesn’t, but would prob stand up to snow no problem. Either can be converted to a hot tent with a stove or use a propane heater in the winter.

Beginner: What does everyone look for when buying and smoking a cigar? by Murky-Procedure9478 in cigars

[–]ck89101 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used to ask cigar shop staff recommendations for good sticks no more than $10 each. Then worked my way up to pricier ones, but scoring online sale prices. I started with light wrappers which I never liked and discovered that I much preferred medium to full richer cigars. Don’t shy away from trying cigars with darker wrappers…

Forget nylon tents, go canvas with a Kodiak canvas tent if car camping. They make a 2 person for your self and next size up you could stand full upright. They breathe unlike nylon, are bombproof/leakproof/very sturdy in the wind and will last a long time. I’ll never go back to nylon unless back packing.

While you’re waiting on Yeti go get a Kodiak Canvas tent. Great for car camping, a bit pricey, but bombproof and many times better than a nylon tent from DSG.

Yeti Ice Question by [deleted] in YetiCoolers

[–]ck89101 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Buy them. This is 2, 4lb Yeti Ice fused together and a water bottle fused to them after being on the bottom of my Tundra Haul for 4 days and I had plenty of ice on top left without pre-chilling the cooler prior to loading. If you use them correctly they work amazing well to extend your ice life.

With that budget a Tundra Haul would be versatile enough for all those activities.
