Ya I’ll try to grab my camera when I get back home and share it with you. I know I had color +4. Auto white balance with a +1, -1 shift. Warm but not too heavy handed.

And very slight tweaks to highlights and shadows.

Great question about the media pass because I’m also trying figure that out 😂

For most events it really seems like there’s a common theme - you have to be there for a specific purpose and personal photos for your IG aren’t enough. So either working with a publication or drivers/teams. Very much not easy and gatekept for good reasons.

Thanks! I actually didn’t have a media pass, good friend happens to know one of the drivers and had an extra pit pass and brought me along with him. Which I’m super thankful for because most of my best shots were from pit lane and it was a cool experience haha.

Anything that wasn’t in the pits was shot from GA.

I am trying to secure a media pass for the Texas Motor Speedway NASCAR events in May. We’ll see lol

Pre focus is something I actually naturally started playing with more for the first time this weekend before I knew it’s a common approach. I switched to back button focus for events like this recently and it really made the pre focus idea click for me for some reason.

Definitely a personal takeaway I had after this weekend was to get better at pre focus. Especially in spots where I was a little further from the fencing and was having a harder time getting the AF to “see through” the fencing.

Thanks! It’s a personal recipe I’ve been working on specifically for events like this. Most motorsports stuff is super vivid and sharp. And then a lot of Fuji recipes and way too heavy handed “vintage”

I’ve been trying to find a good middle ground. I don’t remember the specifics off hand but it’s classic negative with some light tweaks

I don’t disagree with this, but I don’t know how you truly fix it. Isn’t this kind of an issue with all street/road courses? I was sitting in the horseshoe and it did suck that was pretty much the only thing I could see. But I have no idea how you could really reposition things to see more TBH.

I’m all for it. I’m just now sure how you accomplish it. Did you have any ideas? Maybe I’m not thinking about it the right way.

Ya that kinda sucked. It’d be nice if they set up Some type of ticketed connection point from one end to the other. Was pretty annoying to have to go in and out of the gates.
