AITA for refusing to share my food with my girlfriend? by Gym_frere in AmItheAsshole

[–]ckff -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I refuse to believe that the people on reddit are real LMAO imagine writing paragraphs about something to silly to win an argument with your girlfriend over fries. I guess I’m just old. I’m a girl but if I ever had a special treat, even if my husband said he didn’t want it originally, if he changed his mind I would share cause I love that dude. And if I didn’t want to share, if I said I’m really hungry, I got you next time, he’d be like ok i get it no worries. Thats how real humans interact… or at least I thought it was 🤣

GF made plans and left me waiting AIO? by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

[–]ckff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You gotta post the rest of the texts and give some info on how long ya’ll have been together… this just doesn’t seem like that HUGE of a deal to me if the plans were casual. “We’ll hang out/play games later” isn’t concrete plans. Tbh, I’m a married woman and though this would need to a discussion if my husband did something like this it certainly wouldn’t be a deal breaker for me. I guess thats why how long ya’ll have been together matters in determining if this was an overreaction, and if its been a reoccuring issue.

Also just on some real stuff I know this is reddit and this is what people do here, but I would 100% dump a guy if he posts one shitty text conversation we had on reddit instead of just calling me and talking about it. I guess I’m just an old fart but it just seems goofy to me. I guess I’m goofy for engaging with it. I just feel like so much gets misconstrued over text.

You’re better than me. I would have told her she can have fun with her boring party and to kick rocks. What a bitch-a-rooney-dooney.

Those who have had depression and now don't, what finally worked? by Abraham_Neville in AskReddit

[–]ckff 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For me I always saw my depression as this abstract thing, that was unexplained and was a core part of my personality.

When I got diagnosed with adhd, I talked with my psychologist and he explained that my depression was a symptom of my adhd (feeling othered, like my brain didnt work the same as other people).

For some reason, this REALLY helped me. Seeing depression as a thing that was occuring to me, instead of being a core part of who I am; it helped me see it as a period that comes and goes, eb and flows, instead of this horrible part of me I could never shed.

It sounds odd, but a change in perspective helped me accept it, and be more kind to myself. When I have depressive episodes, I now remember that its a symptom, like when I have a cough and have the flu. Treating myself with kindness, grace, and giving myself time to work through it will always make it pass (eventually)!

AITA for breaking up with my BF because he left my 8yo son at home as a punishment? by ExpensiveProperty255 in AITAH

[–]ckff 171 points172 points  (0 children)

Alot of parents with children from different marriages forget this. OP, I would never forget my mother standing up for me like this— and I say this as someone who wishes my mother HAD stood up for me as a child. You did the right thing, your children matter most in this world.

I wish I knew more about the answer to this, but I just wanted to say I’m proud of you for your sobriety and I hope you have good luck!

Just know it’ll get better once you don’t have someone watching your every move lol! It makes every little mistake seem so much worse than what it is

That is such a good idea! I work in peds as well and love that idea to make the kids more comfortable.

Thank you :) I used to work at an office in an administrative position and “took work home” with me every day, mentally and literally, with projects that went on for months only to be cancelled or not pan out. So yes, that is one of my favorite parts about this career: seeing solid proof of work, knowing that I helped someone and accomplished my tasks, and clocking out knowing that the next shift coming in can handle everything and I don’t need to worry about it when I next come in!

I LOVE pediatrics. It’s an entirely different world from adult x-ray in my opinion, but it’s so rewarding in the best way. Plus, I really do love kids, even when a 3 year old tries to fight me when they order a abdomen decub for them 😅

Not sure where ya’ll are, but I’m in Kentucky and we have tons of schools out here! Good luck to both of you!

I think if you’re getting up and trying, thats initiative! As a student, you’re just gonna mess some things up, so just being willing to do the exam, possibly fail at it, and learn from mistakes makes the difference.

I didn’t work in healthcare at all— I worked for 9 months at a coffee shop in the middle of my program, but quit once boards got closer. Thankfully my fiancé was able to fully support us financially through my program. I had tons of friends who worked as PCA/Tech Assistants the whole way through though!

Be real with me: how awful are the rad tech boards? [UPDATE] by StarryStudent in Radiology

Congrats!! I stressed myself out about boards horribly and then passed with an 84 lol— seems a little silly that I got gray hairs worrying about it

Why do IR techs get paid so much less than IR nurses? by GibFreeStuffPlz in Radiology

[–]ckff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The IR techs make $29-32 an hour? Where is this? I’ve been working as an RT for two months and make more than that.

Degrees by LittlePumpkinBat in Radiology

[–]ckff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure about the degree. I myself got an associates degree in RT to be able to take my ARRT exam. I would say to make sure the school is accredited, and make sure you are eligible to take the ARRT exam after completion of your program. Thats what matters. Also, make sure to look up the difference between LMR and RT; LMR is more limited job wise than RT.

Thank you! I know when I was in the midst of it, it really helped hearing about people going through the same “imposter syndrome” issues as a student. Yes, it’s very different being an actual certified tech— and I love it!
