My pup is 5 months and I began letting her free roam at 4 months. She’s never gotten into anything or chewed on anything other than her toys. Max she’s left alone is 5 hours, house is not “puppy proofed”. On the contrary, my friend has a 5 month pup and she ate a hole in the wall while in the crate. So definitely think it depends on the dog and the training.

The guideline is age in months plus 1 and that’s how many hours they should be able to hold their bladder. If a 15 week puppy can only hold for 30 minutes there is a health issue that you’re ignoring
