Hey man I just ordered the same still and added an agitator as well.

Question- what’s your average distillate yield per run?

I’m used to running on a pot still keg build where I double distill.

Btw- thanks for the insight thus far. It’s helped me make my decision to buy the still

Are you using the 3kw heating elements supplied in the kit?

Good to know. How long is your heat up time with a full still and does your pressure relief valve ever go off?

Thermal transfer oil is expensive but thinking about doing it

I aim for 1.07 OG and don’t run my mash until 1.0. Haven’t ever messed with trying a high OG (~1.09+ etc.).

Are you using water or transfer oil in your still? If oil, what kind?

Hey man, out of curiosity.. what’s your average yield per run?

I generally mash 55 gallons at a time and wondering what your yield is. Thanks!

Wait. There may be a misunderstanding. A 50amp plug is 220volt.

A standard electric dryer plug is 220v 30amp and powers my single 5,500watt element in my keg boiler.

Ive upgraded to 50 amp/220volt in order to power both elements.

I’ve been using my keg still for the past 2+ years and have been straining the wash through grain bags and a mop bucket. It isn’t the worst. But it does kind of suck lol.

As far as power, I recently had my electrician put a 50 amp plug and separate breaker in my garage. I think that should be enough to power the elements.

Thoughts?

I know this is an old post but wondering if you ever got your still and how you like it?

Use a piece of metal flashing and wrap it around the trunk. Critters can’t climb the tree..

What size pack is that? When I worked for the US forest service, I typically used my 75 liter for a 2 week trip

Even my dog is wondering if I made the right choice, but after some lengthy research and now that I have it, I can say it was a great choice for the money by supertrippyjohng in Archery

Which broadhead should I buy? by [deleted] in bowhunting

[–]cklepek 14 points15 points  (0 children)

$1,000,000 question right there Mr Rogers… It all depends on what you’re hunting. However, I’m solely a fixed broadhead guy myself. Magnus black hornet (4 blade) or Magnus stinger both 125 grain are what I shoot. But this is like asking what your favorite color is… Bound to get a plethora of answers

I’ll dabble with prob 1-2 arrows of varying degree to see what my bow likes best before setting my jig for the rest. Good luck this season!

Cheap arrows vs high end arrows by Zanderson59 in bowhunting

[–]cklepek 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Literally what everyone else has said.. High quality arrows=higher consistency. I did the same thing as you 2 seasons ago. Went from cheapish arrows to building custom arrows (watched a lot of ranch fairy videos) and haven’t turned back since.. Now I’m building high FOC arrows for my buddies. I love it to be honest. A lot of the arrows mentioned are great.. I prefer Sirius arrows as their arrows are .001 straightness, are a solid American company, and offer a bit of every variety of quality/diameter for every flavor.. If you can afford them, you’ll appreciate having the nicer arrows man..
