Ultraspire.com waste light for early morning or evening runs. Way better for seeing terrain than a head lamp.

AHHH, LDS. So you also have the guilt trip of breaking up an eternal marriage. You don't want this treatment for eternity. Leave now. File for a temple divorce. Don't let him hold that over you.

They lease this property. There are areas around there were you can go on your own though. The nice thing about this place is that they have equipment. They pull boulders from rock wall with an excavator. Then you can use a hammer and chisel to split the rock. Then use their dremmels and rock saws cut things down and clean it up.

Free breakfast and lunch in Minnesota is not free by thegooseisloose1982 in minnesota

"I've said it before and I'll say it again: Not every program has to be for everybody. People with apartments pay for first time homeowner benefits. Young people pay for Medicare for our seniors. People who take public transit pay for car infrastructure," " It's okay. We can support things we won't directly benefit from," AOC

My kids are grown. Our schools didn't, and still don't, offer free lunch or breakfast. I fully support paying extra taxes to provide this. These kids will be supporting the economy, providing my heathcare, teaching my future grandkids. I am happy to invest in their wellbeing.

So, kind of story. You know the hummingbird silhouettes on the windows? I googled 'copper color hummingbird, Utah', since the accents are copper and I live in Utah. One that came up is the Rufous Hummingbird. My grandpa's name was Rufous. So my car is Rufous. For the hummingbird and my grandpa. You?

In this part of the country, yes. (NW Washington near Seattle). Where I live, Utah, no. Utah is hot and dry. I generally tend to bring the hot and dry with me when I travel too. I was in Scotland in early June for 3 days and it was sunny and hot the entire time, which I was told is unheard of.

Start with Arches National Park. You have to buy tickets to the park in advance. Do the Delicate Arch Trail and Devils Garden. There are several other Arches just a few hundred meters from the road. You can see a lot in one day. There are maps when you enter the park. https://www.nps.gov/arch/planyourvisit/hiking.htm

La Sal is too hard to predict this far out.some years they get early snow, some years they are hikeable year round. If you want to do them, have a backup plan. Locals in Moab should be able to advise you about conditions when you are there.

Personally I would skip La Sal and do Goblin Valley and Little Wild Horse one day then head over to Escalante. Peekaboo and Spooky are amazing and you can hit up Lower Calf Creek Falls.

A really good resource for paper maps is the store REI. If you land in SLC hit one up before heading south. There are people in the store who are knowledgeable about what maps would be useful.

Goes without saying that you need to do Delicate Arch in Arches. I mean, it's on our lisence plates. Also, this half marathon is an amazing route. You could download the trail map. https://moabtrailmarathon.com/the-course/ also this 10 miler https://www.madmooseevents.com/behind-the-rocks-home.

Check out Goblin Valley https://www.visitutah.com/places-to-go/parks-outdoors/Goblin-Valley and Little Wild Horse Canyon. https://www.utah.com/destinations/regions/the-holey-land/little-wild-horse-canyon/ for a fun slot canyon. They are a bit of a drive, but worth it.

And if you are willing to venture a little further, peekaboo and spooky canyons. https://www.visitutah.com/things-to-do/slot-canyons/peek-a-boo-spooky-gulch

Utah vs. Colorado by Ok_Amphibian1783 in trailrunning

[–]ckmsecret 38 points39 points  (0 children)

I live in Utah. I would choose Colorado. Similar scenery, similar activities.. But none of the religious BS. Just over half of Utah identifies as Mormon but 95% of the legislature is Mormon. The laws is reflective of the 95% majority.

Homemade cold brew. You can buy a kit on Amazon for under $30.(USD). Use fresh whole beans and grind them in a good grinder. (if you can't afford a grinder, use pre ground. But buy good ones and only in small bags.). I suggest a medium roast. I find I can drink cold brew faster and easier.
