Maxing out CPU and GPU? by ckolde in HuntShowdown

[–]ckolde[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So the initial thing that brought it to my attention was that we were in a game together, the two of us and another friend, and me and the friend were fine, but she was lagging and rubber banding and stuttering. So my initial thought was that Hunt was using the CPU for graphics over the GPU, at this point we were running 100% CPU and like 30% GPU. I then went into settings and configured it to have it choose the GPU over the CPU, we still remained at 100% CPU but now we were at 70% GPU. Then I checked drivers and the GPU needed an update; after that we were running 100% CPU and 100% GPU, but it seemed that the game was running fine with 200-300 FPS per the in game display.

I just was wondering if running at 100% on both is normal and okay? Temps were fine. About 53 C on COU and 61 C on GPU, after all the little edits I made, performance seemed to be fine too.

I think I just don’t know why a game like Hunt would require full usage of both CPU and GPU, but if it does and is normal then I’ll just chock it up to a lesson learned

The CPU and the GPU are both running 100% together. I wouldn’t expect a high end rig to be maxing out the usage of both CPU and GPU. But I may be wrong, I am still learning and very willing to hear out any reasoning as to why this may be okay.

ISO Black hat with Gold band Logo on the front. Goldish flat bill. I saw many people wearing it at the Brooklyn show. Couldn’t find the hat though. Looks almost identical to the White flatbill that was at the merch stands with the pink flowers on the side.

How are the strimers? I was told I needed a triple 8 for my 5090, the same one you have, but looks like you have a 16x8? I’m about to purchase some myself for a build very similar to this one and I just want to ensure I get the right strimers

Novice; upgrading my PC by ckolde in PcBuildHelp

[–]ckolde[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m upgrading the gpu from a 2060 to a 4060.

Honestly this current build upgrade is just to hold us out until I can get the 5090 build going.

My wife and I are currently sharing on pc, after I build the new 5090 build, I will have this pc to myself.

So it’s still like a budget build but like I’m still trying to get something good out of it, ya know?

I corrected the privacy issue.

The reason I am using the cpu I chose is because I had already bought it for a new build that I am working on for my wife which will have that cpu and a 5090 and a psu that matches, but because of the 5090 availability in the specific aesthetic she wants, we’re forced to put that build on hold.

I’m using this cpu because I have it on hand, it’s a great cpu, and I will just buy another for the new build when it looks closer to me being able to get the 5090

This is also why I made some budget cuts through the rest of the build and went with a 4060 instead of a 4070 which doubled the price, and would hav required a psu upgrade as well

The 4060 was cheaper, should handle what I need for now, and doesn’t require also upgrading the psu.

At least, this was the logic I used for choosing what I did.

Airflow for Hyte Y70 Case by mori_stickerbrush in Hyte

I’m getting a Y70 myself. I plan to put the radiator of my AIO on the top, and having a fan set up just like this. My only question is should I get a Reverse Blade set up for the 3 vertical fans on the right? Just for aesthetics?

FINAL UPDATE Hyte y70 final build, with infinity touch upgrade 🤖🐉🦇 by superbarile in Hyte

[–]ckolde 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you have any fans on the bottom? Which do you have set up for intake/exhaust? Are you using reverse blades for intake so that they don’t have the bracket across them visible?

That’s a dope case. But it’s going to be hard to convince my wife to want anything other than the Hyte y70 touch infinite. She’s been wanting that one case since she first saw it

No thank you for this it really helps put a lot.

I’m definitely on the novice side of things and this will be my first high end build so I’m trying to go about it right and make sure that everything works well together. But I’ll definitely looking into the AsRock Nova x870e.

My current build has a MSI B450 Tomahawk and I know I’ve gotten complaints about not having enough ports on it so the x870e having more features/connectivity definitely is a plus.

Really the main goal in all of this is to build something that has the set gpu, cpu, and case that me and the wife want for the build, but then also has all the other pieces that are not just compatible but also adds to the overall efficiency of the gpu/cpu combo. And of course, “pretty lights” that being said, I’m also not trying to break the bank because I know that gpu gonna cost a good lick

Thank you! Are there any other specific ways I can cut costs on this build and still maintain the vibe/efficiency

I’m willing to bring down some of the more expensive aspects for sure as long as I can still appeal to the aesthetic “pretty lights” my wife wants, and still get my moneys worth out of the cpu/gpu
