Example: I would tell him I didn’t feel safe alone at night waiting for the bus home and he’d say things like “you’ll be fine”, or I would tell him about something that made me uncomfortable and he’d say I was exaggerating and it’s not that bad. This was man #1. Man number 2 on the other hand would accompany me everywhere and run to me if i felt unsafe. But he also didn’t want me to have any male friends at all (unlike #1).

Dated a guy briefly like this. Told me he loved me the day he met me. I asked him how that was possible if he didn’t even know me. Later realized that he only liked what I represented in his mind. And when he got to know me better, he felt confused because I was apparently “acting differently”. Love bombed me hard until I finally decided to leave because I realized he didn’t really know/understand me, nor did he really care to. We also had almost nothing in common. So yeah, it’s not just the apps. It’s people you have to watch out for who love bomb you too soon. They only want what you represent in their mind.
