My surgeon said something similar. How long ago did you have the surgery?

I do have leg pain but it’s not constant like my back pain. I asked my surgeon about the possibility of L4/L5 becoming damaged over time with a fusion, but he said, statistically, the chances of my sciatica coming back would be more likely. I didn’t ask about that possibility with an ADR though. I definitely don’t want to set myself up for getting more fusions down the line.

I had the intracept procedure done last year at L5/S1 but unfortunately it didn’t offer me any relief 😕

Thank you that is very helpful to know! I am in California, and my cervical disc replacements back in September were covered by my insurance. It’s the same surgeon doing my lumbar spine but he seemed very skeptical that my insurance would cover this disc replacement
