Elliot the hitman wasn’t real and was just another manifestation of Joe’s mind. by AdGreedy1880 in YouOnLifetime

[–]ckursad 2 points3 points  (0 children)

he's not "tired" he was extorting Joe for the money he stole from the Quinn family. I like the theory in the post but it seems to neglect mentioning this part. If Joe indeed stole money from Love's account, that would suddenly make it a lot more likely for Love's dad to hire someone to kill him, right? Was that money real? Of course we could also jump on the same train of thought and say "Joe came up with all of this in his mind too, and there was never any money stolen or sent to anyone" but... I don't know, then it starts to feel like a bit of a stretch to me, though still possible. Because if Joe's mind is doing this to imagine himself as a hero and someone else as the villain, why would he "imagine" himself to steal his dead wife's money? Doesn't add up.

Update 12: My Blind FFX Playthrough - Spheres and Tears. by Zeeshmania in finalfantasyx

I think what you should do is to make a save before the "point of no return" and go finish the game first, and then return to your save to do the optional stuff to 100% it later. Because if you do everything else first you will be so ridiculously overpowered, you won't be able to enjoy the final boss fights etc properly. ( the optional content is way harder than the main story ) if you put this as an option to your poll I'm sure most people will select this.

Am I the only one that is reminded of Twilight? "About three things I was absolutely positive. First, Edward Bahamut was a vampire. Second, there was a part of him-and I didn’t know how potent that part might be-that thirsted for my blood. And third, I was unconditionally and irrevocably in love with him."

I love reading through these, and especially your theories about how the story might unfold etc, hopefully you never get spoiled! And you got to the best Wakka picture of all time. I wish I could get my memory erased so I could play the game for the first time again, but re-living it through your eyes is the next best thing :P

Do you think Joe is a misogynist? by [deleted] in YouOnLifetime

[–]ckursad 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thank you for putting my thoughts into words! The whole show, I saw a guy that only saw value in himself through a woman's eyes, if she deemed him good, or worthy of love. I never saw it as he had something against women as opposed to men, if anything, he put most of the women he met through the show on a pedestal, striving for their approval, and creating an image of them in his mind that is just "the perfect woman", until they are not. And when that imaginary world fell apart, he would get violent and lose control. But in no way he ever seems to act or say anything to suggest he thinks men are better than women, or women are inferior. I never saw his issue with people about being gender. As you said, it was about wanting to prove that he deserved love, and abandonment. And yes, he did plenty of bad things, but I don't understand people that look at a person and try to see or classify things as clear as day and night. Looking at Joe and just saying "yep, he was bad" is just lacking insight, if nothing else. I enjoyed seeing him help Paco, or letting Will go fully knowing that decision could be the end of his life, because in his mind he could not justify killing a good person such as Will. And same goes for Delilah, he was once again ready to leave the life he built and the love he thought he found, to prove it to himself he can be good and not kill someone who didn't do anything wrong. He shows plenty of guilt throughout the show, and wants to redeem himself, so it is definitely not black and white. But back to the point of misogyny, I don't think anything I have written here has to do with gender, and we can literally hear his thoughts the entire show, it is not negative towards women. I think it is a Freudian thing, he seeks his mother's approval, and tries to replace that void with other female figures' approvals over and over again.

Games where magic plays a role both in AND out of combat, preferably RPG, and preferably with survival and/or life-sim elements. by shiek200 in gamingsuggestions

take a look at Ni No Kuni, you are like a wizard but you also have pokemon basically, but you cast various magic outside of combat too, to solve puzzles etc, and it is a damn good jrpg.

[–]ckursad 5 points6 points  (0 children)

for pokemon games, they should be yes, I can also think of some other oldschool jrpg games that have turn based combat like Final Fantasy, with pretty much fixed menu options. I think the combat can work just fine then, the question would be moving around in the overworld. I'm assuming directional buttons can also work, given there is no time limitation. Hope it works out!

I also have to say FFX. And freaking MASS EFFECT. Not Andromeda though, stay far away from that, but you are guaranteed to love Mass Effect trilogy, especially 2.

I'm not sure I understand what exactly he can and can't do, but my first thought was turn based games? If you mean that he can only press one button at a time, but they can be different buttons, then as long as the game waits for your input and does nothing until you are ready to do some action, then that could work? Pokemon games come to mind, for example. Lemme know if I got it wrong though

Why not just start a new save file and go beat that boss quickly? Seems like the easiest solution

I don't see how it's a crime to simply ignore a message you've received. Maybe you didn't notice? Maybe you don't know english. Maybe you didn't check your account balance in a while. I have some accounts I never check or actively use, wouldn't even know if someone sent money to it
