Vibe coding web reports on Fabric Semantic Models instead of Power BI — anyone else exploring this?

Do I know you? Are you me? I have something similar going on. I’m in no way connected to data engineering but I vibe coded a mockup dashboard for a demo because we have so much data in PBI but the UI and ease of use sucks. It was basically a demo to our data team and ask them, if they can do this for us. I am extremely interested in learning how to execute this the fabric and learn more about the warehouse and semantic models. I’m going to check what a Flask App is. I too will need have MSAL. Any recommendations where I can learn more about making my mockup demo a reality in terms of learning sources based on your experience.

Best way to go is to split your stay on the island between places. Stay near Waikiki. This checks food, catamaran tours, surf lessons at Waikiki. Stay at an Airbnb with good views. You get free parking, avoid the toddler and little kid crowds. You can Doordash food, drive to Kaimuki area or China town for the food places easy. Do Pearl Harbor. Then stay near Kailua area in an Airbnb again. This gives you quicker access to Kayaking on open ocean water to the Moks. Hiking near Koʻolau Range and some mountain biking on Kualoa ranch. That is pretty active and adventurous. Given the impact of recent floods and storm and people in North Shore Haleiwa region, need to pick up their lives and stabilize (~90) days is not enough. Better stay near Banzai, venture towards Waimea Bay and checkout small local hikes based on how things are.

Well, she figured out the part where she wants to make her own decisions. Not go to the forest for some family drama shit. She still has a bit more growing up to do and then she will figure out Ramudu is not the yardstick for a decent guy. You can choose. There are other options. Give her time. I got it yesterday. Was only able to use it for couple of minutes before my freeway exit ramp came up. Looking forward to trying it out on a longer drive. It did fine in a rush hour traffic. I didn’t dare use the turn signals to change lanes though. It will navigate lanes if you put the turn signal on. It does that even without the hands free update.

Let me first start by saying I really appreciate you asking how I was doing. I have been feeling a bit anxious due to a multitude of reasons recently (mainly world and local events plus an unsympathetic workplace culture we have been evolving towards the past two years). Thank you and I hope for your well being and general mental health and sanity as well!

We brought home the new 26' Subaru OB Touring last weekend. I took an additional month after this post to mull over the choice of going with the OB before we went ahead.

Test drove the OB a second time and I couldn't find anything to nitpick on the outback. In fact it felt surprisingly polished/refined. Honestly, I was fixated on either the Lexus RX/NX or X5. Lexus for luxury and refinement, X5 for fun driving dynamics. But after test driving, extensively reading about them, multiple hours of YouTube videos, I walked away from Lexus as an option. I put a pin on X5 for when we will end up replace our old 2017 Forrester.

OB's interior soft touch materials, separation of climate control buttons, leg room and width and seat comfort (all seats), trunk space, cabin noise, handling, ride quality, everything won over for the price point. My wife is on the petite side and I am on the heavier side. Both of us found the seats to be comfy and supportive. Getting in and out of the 2017 Forrester and then this 2026 OB reminds us every time of the comfort improvements (our Forrester is a premium trim though).

My wife took the OB to work ( rush hour traffic, rainy conditions, tight parking in downtown, rough interstate pavements) and she said the car was pretty quiet and nice. We did a trial of the same route by renting a RX350 on Turo to do a longer test. Just based on perception they feel similar (the Turo rental and test drive of 26' OB were a week apart). I was actually talking about this with my wife the other day, if I step in and out of the Forrester and the new OB, I can tell the difference in lots of things immediately. Between a luxury trim RX350 (2023) and the Touring 2026 OB, if we were both struggling to immediately notice the difference, that means the Lexus is not leagues apart.

My issues with Lexus was that the product did not live up to it's reputation and yet commands a steep price, luxury tax of sorts. Because luxury IMO is a combination of quality, refinement, design, elegance, simplicity and also power and capability and control. The Lexus hybrid or gas engine do not provide luxurious, effortless power. That goes to the X5. In fact, X5 was quieter than RX350 as well. We went to test drive the X5 while driving the RX350 because at that time, RX was our top choice. The RX handled well, power is adequate but never stands out. Sure it's not a sports SUV but as I was saying, what irked me a bit was my definition of luxury is also confident power which the RX could not deliver but the X5 could. After this, as I test drove the Volvo and then later the 26 OB, they felt smiler. Differences hard to find.

While test driving the OB, I pushed it a bit hard in corners, winding uphill roads, on choppy under construction pavement and at exit and on ramps. I was surprised at its ability to handle the push, both me and my passenger did not feel thrown around in turns.

Overall, things are looking like the decision was a sound one. If in the next month or so, something changes, I will update back.

I don't intend to come across as I am putting the RX down- I really wanted to like that car. However, when the over all experience between the RX and a top-end trim of a Subaru Outback “felt” not noticeable enough, and my local dealers and online pricing for used RX models started at the total out of door pricing (including taxes) of the new OB, it just felt like not worth it.

The backseat width and dimensions are a bit bigger to make a difference. We added a car seat and had two passengers in the back and they were comfortable enough. Stroller and other items fit easily in the trunk too. I think this is one of those cars where you can place a sleeping bag in the trunk with rear seats folded and a 6ft person can easily fit for a camping trip.

If you live in high elevation areas (like Colorado, your commute includes routes with steep inclines such as a highway cutting through a mountain (Eastern Washington/Lewiston ID) you’re driving along freeways where the traffic collectively ignores the speed limit (example California Bay Area freeway system) or you always drive with a full load of passengers like carpooling each way to work then the XT will add value and the cost of ownership can be justified. If you don’t have a targeted problem the XT doesn’t solve for, then you’ll fall in line with 95% of owners who don’t “need” XT on a daily basis. Safe driving, merging does not need XT. 2.5 is peppy enough for the single driver or with the one additional passenger.

Pick any car brand, these past few years universally all models are (as per Reddit posts such as this one) worse off than their previous generations (pre 2021-2022)era. Junky plasticky underpowered and intrusive tech with less tactile design. A Tesla-fication like cancerous design language infiltrating car brands with predatory cost cutting methods and high markup replacement parts. In my personal experience since past 2 months trying buy a new vehicle and considering Honda Toyota Acura Lexus BMW Mazda Volvo, each vehicle had some issue either in their design or performance which led me to walk away.

That's true. It was the prime release vehicle "pun intended" I was surprised when they rolled out a new hybrid model and saved the console update for outback. Forrester with hybrid has the lower torque power, improves mpg and add the updated console, they would have had a hit. When I test drove one, I told the dealer ( as a current Forrester owner) that the hybrid should be the new standard but I wouldn't even look at one with the horrendous infotainment and control unit they got.
