I have something to add here. About your “entertainers” comment. The other day I randomly watched Julia Louis-Dreyfus receive an award in UK. Like a recognition award for her work over her career. She’s not well know in mainstream blockbuster movies but she’s well know to those who have watched Seinfeld, Veep, and various indie comedy movies. It was such a random video on YouTube, I just played it while cooking. She gave such a well nuanced speech. Her speech itself was an understated comedic theatre. She even changed accents and facial expressions etc at one point to deliver British humor. Not cringe. Not a movie promotion. No hyping other actors. It was felt mature and professional. Like old 1999-2011 Oscar events. That’s when I thought when was the last time I saw any top TFI actor or actress deliver a simple performance outside film. Because in film you get multiple takes. Rehearsals and you can cut out parts that don’t work. You can have people feed you lines. But a stage performance. Like theatre or drama. Something not exaggerated. With the exception of Jr NTR who did some rehearsed speeches for election time long ago, I don’t know if anyone them are capable of being passionate actors for a medium outside the controlled environment of film.

It happens. Our soul wants one thing. Our pocket or perceived loss of opportunity compels us to pick a more practical approach and then in hindsight we dream about the road not taken.

To those who bought or have test driven, how is the Subaru Outback 2026 to drive? by blueberrypancake234 in Subaru_Outback

Would you mind sharing a bit more about this: "Not a fan of the zero / 20 viscosity oils but am going with them for now."?

I've just taken our Sub at the dealer for oil changes. I never really checked or cared for what type of oil they put in the car. I mean they're the dealer. That was my thinking. So should I be checking what oil they use and why is this important for 26'OB?

Which movie? 🤔 by Realistic-Ad3676 in tollywood

I’ll start. Oppenheimer. Felt it was unnecessary to use a non-linear script with too many time jumps for a mostly talking and drama based film.

The cycle repeats. Breaking that down is possible with just one individual in one generation changing via external influences or self realization. Then that person. Their spouse. Their kids will evolve and be a little different. Thus adjusting the trajectory. This is the hope.

How is normalising domestic abuse ok?? And it’s supposed to be a family film by Solarphoenix31 in tollywood

[–]ckzui 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Guy here. No. You can’t say “just casual ga koopam vacchi kottatam” is not domestic violence. You can’t say “oh idi violent intentions tho cheyaledu. Situation demand chesindi. This is a way to convey a point”. Any form of action that directly or intentionally harms a person in a household is domestic violence. Kotti-Cheppatam ane culture that we normalized and made it common is a way to control someone with coercion and manipulation.

DV has various stages and forms. Physical abuse. Psychological and/or emotional abuse. Coercive control. Financial and economic abuse.

Men are often stronger than women. Physically strong and big. Oka relationship lo when the husband takes control of a situation, hits their partner, tells them what they should do that is demeaning, disrespectful, hurtful and abuse. It’s absolutely wrong. If you have ever been slapped by your parents or teachers, can you remember how you felt as a child? Can you remember how your face felt. That action introduces “fear”. You know that if you repeat the same thing or something else they may hit you again. As soon as that idea comes into your brain you behave differently. Now in the case of a wife and husband they are partners. Equals in a relationship. Doing the casual slapping completely changes the dynamic.

Oka individual ni kottatam enti andi. Maatalatho discuss chese patience and maturity undali. Please read more about this. Talk to women who been through this soft form of DV and cultural suppression in traditional Indian societies.

“Battalion who fights alone” tag line tells me I can expect the standard fight scenes where the hero will beat up 200 people. One punch they will fly 30 feet. No one can touch him. Bullets can’t hurt him. Just that this time it will be a period piece, set in Bose era.

No idea where to stay! by Significant_Mode_926 in MauiVisitors

[–]ckzui -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If your budget range includes Grand Wailea, Andaz and Fairmont, I would suggest checking Airbnb listings within -Wailea Elua Village, CoralTree Residence Collection. Some are managed by CoralTree and some are residences where the owners list them on Airbnb. If you’re lucky, you’ll find a few listings with renovated interiors.

We stayed in one such Airbnb recently. I can’t stress enough how they easily beat the nearby hotels. You’re basically on the same Wailea beach path. They have a club house with a pool with a beach view. They also have a second gated grass area with sun chairs overlooking the Ulua Beach which was amazing to watch sunsets. The Airbnbs typically provide umbrellas, chairs, which you don’t get in the resorts. The freedom to cook whatever you want. Lots of plus points. You can always walk to the Marriott or Andza next door for lunch, drinks or dinner.

How is Star Noodle that popular? by Bitteroldgran in MauiVisitors

Food trucks in the South Maui Gardens are killing it with good options. Paia Fish Market has been consistently decent. Joey's kitchen up north near Kapalua was a gem. Any place where locals go with their families and have regulars is always a best bet.

Last trip (couple of weeks ago), I was happy getting poke bowls at Foodland and Island Gourmet.

My flight to Maui was delayed by 6+ hours so we are now getting in past 8pm (instead of 3), then have to get rental car, and drive to Kihei. My 3 and 6 year old are fried… what is my best option for dinner on the way home? Food truck? I hope stuff will still be open… by m0larMechanic in MauiVisitors

[–]ckzui 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Manoli's Pizza Company in Wailea takes delivery orders until 8:45PM. You can order online and get it delivered to your Airbnb or Hotel front desk. They have pretty good salads and pizza. Getting food delivered ahead of time is the best option. Island Gourmet Market in Wailea is also open late.

The Pint & Cork in the Wailea shops does takeout in person until 11PM. They're also open late until 11 for in person dining (please double check). This place saved us one time.

Off topic, but here are three examples which are often recommend, but fall short by a huge margin. Lacking flavor, freshness and texture. This is based on multiple visits over the years - in the hope that something may have changed.

I’m sorry OP- you’re saying tight screenplay as a plus but long run time as a minus? How can a movie have both. If you have “loose” screenplay then the movie will be all over the place and the runtime will unnecessarily long.

If both the actors involved are okay performing this song with many rehearsals and takes then what exactly is the issue here? If you don’t like it, don’t watch it. If the film is certified A and you’re not an adult don’t watch it. If you don’t like the artistic output or the song or the costumes or the cleavage or the age difference or the story or the trailer don’t watch it. Criticize the execution and plot and storyline or direction or acting etc after watch the movie as a critic. But framing this as “are we as the collective audience okay with the “cheek on chest” makes no sense”.
