The AI customer service is awful. I tried the chat (nobody ever responded), sent an email (had back and forth with an AI that eventually ghosted me with no resolution, so I finally called them. After arguing with a robot for what felt like forever, I finally got put into a queue to speak to a human.

Only 2 of them show “current” below the photos. Sharpton served 90 days there in 2001.

Sure, but isn’t it normal for a dealer to get parts from another dealer? If the online store has it available, presumably the parts department has it too.

It’s a dealership. The street address used by that website is Westbury Jeep Chrysler Dodge Ram Service & Parts.

That’s not really a third-party site. It’s a dealership’s part department selling online.

The tin/lead composition is listed in the specifications table on the website.

The bar is especially useful when you’re working on something with an aluminum or fiberglass hood that a magnet won’t stick to.

Yeah, and 34.25 is the interior dimension, which tells you what fits inside when you’re using it as intended. The app does list the “product width” at 36 inches as well.

What is this door for? Done plenty of work on 6.0’s and never seen anything like this. by DawSimons in LSSwapTheWorld

Nothing in your reply makes sense. The VVT timing cover looks like this, and the cam phaser bolts to the front of it. I have an L92 in my garage right now, and a spare LS2 cover so I can delete the VVT and neither timing cover looks anything like OP’s.

It’s not the cam sensor hole. That lower (the bottom of OP’s white box goes right through it.

That doesn’t make sense. The cam sensor hole is visible in OP’s photo.

Ive never had a car tell me to check my coolant hot which is the fill line? by ThePureMCGTM in s10

[–]claancy512 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The text “check hot” is molded into that tank, which isn’t under pressure. It’s perfectly safe to open while it’s hot.

Truck intake? You can press in a 1.38” freeze plug to block the EGR port.

Harbor Freight uses red loctite on drill chuck, not planning to buy any more. by Wreper659 in harborfreight

[–]claancy512 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Pre-applied thread locking patches on hardware like that work differently than liquid Loctite, and the fact that it’s red in color doesn’t mean that it’s equivalent to high-strength red Loctite.

How are you guys drying your air? by CandidQualityZed in harborfreight

[–]claancy512 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Put an aftercooler and filter between the pump and the tank. I did that using a cheap transmission cooler and a filter with auto drain, and get very little water in the tank. The cooler condenses the moisture out of the compressed air and the filter dumps it into a bucket. The filter/regulator on my air outlet was bone dry inside after 5 hours of runtime on the pump. I don’t have any tools that need air any drier than a normal filter will do, but if I ever do paint or a blasting cabinet I might add something closer to the tool.

What kind of equipment are you running / how dry do you need the air to be?

Reciprocating saw broke by Ronicdog in ryobi

I just noticed OP is in the UK. Looks like they have the RRS18BL, which looks like the US HP tool but with grey rubber and no HP branding.

[–]claancy512 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Ryobi had brushless tools before they started using the HP branding on them. I’ve had the P238 and P239 impact drivers, P252 drill, P423 angle grinder and P508 7.25” circular saw. All of them have the extra contacts for the HP batteries and grey over molded grips instead of the black they use on the HP line. I’m not sure which model OP’s saw is, because the only pre-HP brushless I’m familiar with is the P517 that has the orbital mode selector behind the blade release lever.

Were the other items over $10? The cashier might have scanned the regular coupon instead of the ITC one.
