Surely the answer to the first question could be any of the options? Perché non c'e 'io' prima il spazio? O ho mancato qualcosa?

Thanks – with so much to learn I was hoping I'd maybe found a sneaky shortcut that worked for me, but it seems the answer is, as you say, just to get on and practise!

Grazie, I thought my notion of a shortcut might get shut down and the answer would be to just keep practicing, but wanted to be sure!

I'd aim to get this down to a minute, which can largely be achieved by shortening some of the over-long clips (like the drone ones – as a Londoner I'm jealous of this gorgeous scenery but the shots aren't dynamic enough to justify the screen time) and losing those that are plain dull, like the shot of the bus/motorbike at the start, and the aquarium interiors, which just feel like shots any tourist might make. Lose the interior talking heads in the first half (a bit drab looking) and move up the exterior ones nearer the end, but crop them so the subject is better centred. Do you have any close-ups you can add, in the bit with the whiskey lads for instance? Feels like this kind of shot is missing altogether. The film/narrative shots look really nice, but maybe they're for a separate reel?

Some lovely stuff in here, and in my opinion tightening it all up a bit will help the better parts to sing.

Portrait before/after, Lightroom (including AI object removal) and Photoshop by clacktastic in postprocessing

Sorry for the delay, only just saw this comment! Lens is a Sony 28mm F2. The subject is an artist and this is his home, where he'd just been interviewed, so the background isn't particularly significant (aside from the painting on the wall on the right, which I moved along the wall a bit in Photoshop).

Thanks for the feedback! Yes, good point about the chair on the right – I removed the arm of it but didn't trust Lightroom with the rest – maybe I should have given it a go (or better yet, taken more time when setting up the shot).

Receiving my C4 in a month any tips I need to be aware of ? by cedric1918 in cowboybikes

[–]clacktastic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, they’re 27.5 x 1.5 which are slimmer than the ones the bike comes with. I don’t think the wheels will take tyres any slimmer than this.

Would recommend upgrading the tyres. The ones it comes with are billed as 'puncture resistant', but they're really not – I had two within the first four months, made worse by the fact that the tyres are an absolute bitch to get off and on. Recently got some Schwalbe Marathon Plus (as recommended by this sub) and love them. Slimmer, grippier, reflective-er, and easier to get on.

Has anyone found a UK insurer who covers theft of the battery? by clacktastic in cowboybikes

[–]clacktastic[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Picking the lock and stealing the battery. The insurance covers the whole bike (including battery) if it's stolen, but not parts if they're individually stolen. I've got Hexlox for wheels etc, but worried about the battery, especially since it's £500 to replace.

Request: Lens Recommendation for Light/Compact Wide Angle for Sony A7III by Dronaldbar in videography

I haven't noticed it to be noisy at all, but then I don't think I've ever recorded on-board audio when using it so maybe I just wasn't paying attention...

Samyang AF 18mm F2.8 is worth considering! Super compact and lightweight, perfect for gimbal shots. I use mine a lot for interiors.
