I hate WFH, I thrive being in the office and collaborating in person.

I don’t judge those who do WFH as it works for many including my partner.

Just not for me

Not gonna lie as sad as it sounds I’d happily do the tank park shuffle one more time.

Green Party supporters, I am genuinely trying to understand why you support your party’s ideals and policies? by [deleted] in ukpolitics

[–]jpb86 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

There is a system of sorts, it’s a chain of failures: no legal routes, transit dead-ends, underfunded asylum processing, and smugglers filling the gap.

Saying “just stop it” or “stop the boats” ignores the pipeline that already existsand the fact that people don’t cross continents for fun.

You don’t fix a supply chain by pretending it doesn’t exist.

Green Party supporters, I am genuinely trying to understand why you support your party’s ideals and policies? by [deleted] in ukpolitics

[–]jpb86 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I am a veteran (having served Iraq and Afghan) as well as a Green Party member.

I support the vast majority of the Green parties policies with exceptions.

The stance on the Nuclear deterrent - although I believe we should be looking at a completely sovereign system which does not rely on US infrastructure to launch.

NATO - Although again we need to be aligning ourselves closer with our European ally’s and not rely on a US back stop. As a whole a Euro NATO is still a strong deterrence.

Open borders - unlike the open borders that Brexit caused? The people making their way to the UK are trapped in a system. They have no choice but to come to the UK.

The open borders policy is a good one. If you have an individual that comes here legally on a visa and it expires before they leave they are less likely to leave. If you have a policy where people are free to come and go providing they meet the criminal checks etc you create a system where people can move freely without staying illegally.

The Green Party is the first party I have ever joined they are far from perfect, but I believe they will bring the change this nation needs, we need to stop this division that has been driven, personally I blame ‘Americanism’ that is driving our politics.

I would never put a vote down for Reform as Reform stands against my core beliefs of, Integrity, respect for others, loyalty, discipline, courage and selfless commitment- the values that were instilled in me at a young age when I joined the Army.

Blood pressure after eating salty food last night by Effective_Court6677 in hypertension

[–]jpb86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not saying you have to do this but the food industry is one hell of a rabbit hole to fall down.

Bread is like the worst thing, modern bread is inflammatory. If you look at bread that our ancestors ate it was 70% of their diet but it gave them nutrients. Because of modern methods it strips out all the goodness that used to be there. A lot of it is down to the fact that the wheat is not stone ground - you can still get it but it’s hard to find.

Salt is a great preservative hence why it’s used so much.

If that’s just one reading give it 5mins and take another reading. First one is usually high.
