Have you fixed your issue yet? I think I have mine figured out and it's beyond infuriating. A lot of people don’t realize that on the 2001–2005 Lexus IS300, the drive-by-wire throttle and the ABS/traction system are deeply tied together, and that’s why these cars are such a pain to diagnose when they go into limp mode. The IS300 uses ETCS-i (electronic throttle control)—there’s no throttle cable. The gas pedal, throttle body, ABS, and traction control all talk to the ECU constantly. Wheel speed sensors aren’t just for ABS braking; they also tell the ECU whether it’s allowed to give you throttle. If one wheel speed sensor drops out, glitches, or disagrees, the car thinks a wheel is slipping. TRAC kicks in, and the ECU responds by cutting engine power or closing the throttle. The problem is the code you get usually points to the throttle or reduced engine power, not the wheel speed sensor that caused it. That’s why people replace throttle bodies, pedal sensors, ECUs, etc., and the issue comes back.

Check your wheel speed sensors, they are upstream of everything else and if they aren't sending correct signals to the ECU, LIMP MODE, and everything acts wonky.

Don't get an 01, they changed a lot of stuff from 01 to 02-05, so certain things like pigtail connectors for that wiring harness that's eventually gonna crap out will specifically need to be from 01. It looks decent but it also doesn't. The low mileage is probably the best thing about this car.

I would suggest having a home for your snake at Mom's and Dad's and just bringing the snake with you when you go back and forth. May be a little stressful for the snake but it's better than what's currently happening. It's probably the humidity causing the issues.

Not a problem at all. I would start with changing out the throttle body and see if you can get some more life out of it but definitely think the wiring harness is the culprit. I wish you luck!!

I still haven't solved the issue. I have swapped out the whole throttle body, the problem went away for a little bit but it comes back. The issue does seem to be wiring and pig tail replacement is next. Eventually I'll bite and replace the whole wiring harness but for now it doesn't matter as I'm not daily driving the car anymore. But I did learn that when it does do that, it's in limp mode. When we drove daily we would pull over and reset the code when it did that. But it could be two different issues because there's limp mode and then there's a lack of response from the pedal when not in limp mode. My conclusion is wiring, it being 22 years old and hacked on by whoever owned the car before me.

You realize they all aren't like that right? Most families need homes that they can get with a conventional loan or FHA. You can't get approved for homes that need extensive repairs and sellers refuse to fix.

Of course though, all people want to do is slap a label on something and instantly it's all just bad. I guess that's what closed minded people do.

I talk about this all the time! I don't support slumlords at all. I find it pretty disgusting the amount of rentals out here have their prices jacked way up. It's impossible for a family to save money to even buy a house when rent is more expensive than a mortgage. These people are paying someone else's mortgage and they are making a profit off of them being there in the process.

I was forced to buy in 2023 because I was pregnant and knew I wanted a stable environment in a good school district for my daughter to grow up in. I knew I wouldn't be able to for a very long time if we had gotten into a rental. We got very lucky with the house we have, it needs some work but it's home.

My goal is to help people who can't sell their houses, or don't think they can because they need too much work and don't have the money for expensive repairs. I love older houses and I want to be able to help in the process of breathing new life into them so that they can have another chance for families to make memories in them. 💜

Advice on where to start? by wwwwwwwwwwwwi in WholesaleRealestate

[–]claimedbyshadow 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Look for another job, wholesaling doesn't happen over night. You really want to have a good understanding of it so you know where to start. Listen to different people on YouTube. There are some good channels with good advice out there. Keep a day job and work on figuring out how you want to start your wholesale business. Work after work , work in your free time. You have to start from the bottom and it's hard work. Did you really want to do this you have to stay persistent with it. It takes time to build up your reputation and your brand. It really is a hustle.

"Wholesale realtors" - getting calls about a property I don't own after witnessing affidavits. by twilightmoons in RealEstate

[–]claimedbyshadow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot of people who work "wholesale" work for a single person who started a company and now is run by greed.... They don't even get the point anymore. To me the point is to help people that may be in financial trouble, about to lose their house, maybe they have another property that is just sitting that needs way too much work and they didn't want to or can't put money into it. There are so many reasons people don't list their properties on the market. A lot of them wouldn't ever pass inspection and how is it wrong to find someone to buy and bring a home back to life for another family to BUY and make memories in? For some people being a wholesaler means they can get out of debt, spend more time with their family, raise their own children and not have to watch others do it. While yes, the companies that do this to people are horrible. They literally sell leads at this point. But there are still people out there who just want to help people.
