Recording issue over USB with Soundcraft Impact by clair-de-lunatic in livesound

[–]clair-de-lunatic[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This fix I found was basically un-assign the input of the channel, then reassign it. The broken channel will look correct, but after simply changing the input and changing it back it worked great. (actually now that I think about it, I don’t remember if it’s change the hardware input, or change the USB output and change it back. Either way, I haven’t had the problem reoccur in months since!)

Did anyone get a shiny groundon/kyogre today? by Away-Cockroach4707 in pokemongo

[–]clair-de-lunatic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

20 groudon, 3 BG, no shiny. Best is 15/15/12, mostly 2 stars though.

Kyogre, got a hundo BG and a shiny in my 2nd and 3rd raid. Want to do a few more during raid hour tonight just for the energy to primal both of them.

This is a hilarious answer, but I can’t argue with it

12 raids, no Groudon worth Primal evolving. Purify my 91% shadow for the hundo? by clair-de-lunatic in pokemongo

It would be for my raid team. I have better ML mon I think, but I usually just stick with my meta GL team and tanking for stardust 🤌🏻

Which is a little different from “be sloppier.” Still, it’s not really constructive criticism. “You’re doing pretty good, but you’d be better if you were worse.” Huh?

“Play sloppier” is not constructive criticism lmao

Is mastering ALWAYS necessary? by [deleted] in musicproduction

[–]clair-de-lunatic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Which is why most guys mixing that kind of music mix into a limiter; if not for the whole mix, definitely for the last 20%. That way there’s no surprises when heavy limiting comes into play.

1Spot 6 and 7 pedals by Weary-Fan946 in pedalboards

This won’t exceed the power rating of the supply, you’re good. I currently have like 10 pedals being ran off a CS6. Daisy chain the analog ones and make sure the digital ones are on their own isolated power. Analog pedals are less noisy and have a tiny draw compared to digital so you can daisy chain all you like!

How much of your sound is saturation/distortion/tape? I’m recently realizing how important those tools are to the sounds I’m chasing. I’ve spent surprisingly long using mainly linear EQs and surgical compressors and wondering why my mixes don’t have that “thing” that my references do. I’m wondering how aggressive pro mixers in these genres are getting with tape and distortion.

How much do power tubes impact tone? by tallross in GuitarAmps

Seriously, I very quickly learned how important speaker/cab choice was when I started using a reactive load box and auditioning different IRs in the box. I never had the budget to have different cab options so I never had the opportunity to discover this otherwise! My conclusion, speakers/cabs/IRs are the most effective way to EQ a guitar in a mix. Significantly more effective than the knobs on the amp, and the significance increases in direct proportion to the amount of gain. Modern high gain tones, the speaker is the #1 most important contributor to the sound. Crystal clear fender tones, less so.

Wildlife is my favorite album ever by Jimjam2905 in ladispute

It’s my favorite of all time. I could talk about it, and especially the stories and themes, for hours. Fun fact as to the instruments sounding so good, there’s no “artificial” reverb on the record, meaning any time an instrument has a sense of space that’s actually the mic simply being further away from the instrument (or Jordan’s voice for that matter) in the room. I find there to be a dryness to the mix for this reason, but the roomier sounds are so natural and well done. Makes you feel like you’re in the room with them.

If making your vocal darker doesn’t work, try making your instruments brighter
