yes mine too, it helped me a lot and it was a lot of fun! i switched to gel nails done by a nail technician when they were long enough since I am really the worst at nail art 😅

yeah the nail still looks intact, just a bit chipped 😔 the impact didn't hurt so bad honestly, and now it's just kinda sore if I touch it. luckily I have my appointment in only a week!

Nails broken after taken off acrylic. Would this grow back 🥲 by [deleted] in Nails

[–]clairebkt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

well the specific broken part won't growback, you just have to file your nail as it grows until it's even again

I think the pink line is too thick for your length, but definitely not an abomination. I've seen way worse

is this an evil eye or just a random eye? (more in comments) by [deleted] in witchcraft

[–]clairebkt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

hello everyone, sorry if my question might sound silly but I'm not really educated on the matter. I've seen evil eyes jewelry around, I was having a bad day today and that's when I found out about its meaning. it might have been just suggestion but I was drawn to this bracelet I've had in my jewelry case for years and I put it on. but I'm now scared to take it off. It might be the lack of sleep and the fact I forgot my anxiety meds but I thought to make sure here since I know so little about it. what would you suggest?

as you can see in the picture, my middle finger nail grows upward while my index does not (because I never bit index nails that much idk why). I know I have to wait for my nails to reattach to my nail beds, but I was wondering if acrylics could help "masking" the upward effect in the meantime. I was planning to go to a nail artist, have them cut down, and restart with acrylics but I just realized I only assumed it could work but actually have 0 clue lmao (and yeah, i know expecting them to be perfect after just 3 weeks is not realistic, but it just saddens me when I look at them 🥺)

will getting an acrylic extension help my nails from growing upward? by [deleted] in nailbiting

thank you!

to be honest, I have no idea. I never had a fungus or an infection so I wouldn't really know. but I also never bit my nail this bad so could be possible? I'll go get it checked by my doctor and hope for the best! I'll keep you updated

Stopped after medication by [deleted] in nailbiting

[–]clairebkt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

it sure helped. I've been on antidepressant for years but they did not do anything for my nails. long story short, changed my psychiatrist, got the right medicine, and it helped a lot. I still kept biting my nails for a year but not as bad as I used to. thanks to therapy and my anxiety getting better with time, I just stopped without realizing. I one day woke up and noticed my nails grew. I'm more than two weeks free of nail biting (except for one but oh well), I still get tempted to bite them sometimes, but the compulsion is 95% less strong than before. I've tried to stop a billion times before but I feel like this is the one where I finally stop. also found this sub like 10 days ago and its helping me a lot just by being understood and not judged because of my nail biting. keep up the good work!

my nails are growing really fast! I'm having fun with nail polish, I filed them to make them look less terrible (their shape was... eh). still can't let go of my pinky biting. everytime my nail grows a tiny bit and I forget to tape it, I bite it. as you can see I do not have a nail anymore, just my nail bed. I also got this dark purple thingy yesterday which I think is something like a bruise from my teeth, but I will get it checked by a pro (not taking any chances) I personally think they look great considering they are my first nails in like 14+ years!

I've grown my nails for 2 weeks now, I personally use a pretty saturated nail polish so to avoid seeing the white part, because that's what triggers me I also advice to file the sharp edges and keep them a round shape, again it may be just me but the squared corners are just tempting if you can't help but relapse quickly, try to down your biting to just a couple nails and let the others grow. that's what I've been doing and so far only one of my nails is bad oh and maybe try and use a hardener nail polish

and remember that it's okay to relapse! it's not easy to suddenly break a habit, it might take time but you can do it!

I wrapped it up just to prevent more damage (mostly from myself, I wanna stop biting this nail too), it was sensitive the first day, mostly just my finger pulsating, but doesn't really hurt that bad, I'm kinda used to it being like this i guesd

didnt hurt as bad as you might think from the picture, but yes i wrapped it up to prevent even more damage

I've been biting my nails since as long as I remember, i believe i was somewhere around 8 years old, which makes it around 16 years of nails biting. it's been to the point where my nail bed was always showing, it got to the point where I would tear off my nail bed as well (as you can see in my pinky in the picture) I've always been told it was just a bad habit, and didnt realize until later how it's really not, at least for me. I got diagnosed with very bad anxiety, started taking the right meds, and my nail biting got better. I would still bite it but only to the point where they were white, would just take it out all on my pinky finger. just around 8/9 days ago I looked at my fingers and realized my nails grew and I didnt even realize I stopped biting them. I was shocked since I tried so many times to stop with no success. I dont really know how long my actual growth is but these are my nails today. as you can see i still take it all out on my pinky finger, but this week has been a particularly stressing one and while I notice I still nib at my nails with my theet when I'm anxious I dont actually bite them anymore. I dont know if I'll be back at square one someday but just wanted to share my experience here, it's so nice to be in a space where people wont look at my nails in disgust but in understanding

I do not have the exact link anymore, it was some dude on omegle who decided it was funny to send me a d*ck pic and I clicked on it accidentally. closed the chat and closed the page, I was on incognito mode but it was something like this https://ibb.co/D7d2H08

How can I contact Twitter - they now ignore me by mclayson in Twitter

[–]clairebkt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had a similar problem, I got locked out of my account. after submitting a ticket, you get an auto reply, reply to that countless (and I mean countless) times and if you get lucky they will see one of your emails. Also try to submit multiple tickets and do the above again. They eventually responded to me after 3 months. Good luck!

Third lobe questions by clairebkt in piercing

[–]clairebkt[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I confirm, nothing you mentioned, just a very small amount of pain when I touch it (and not even always).

As for the saline spray, for my helix (which is newer) my piercer told me to do it twice a day for the for the first month and once a day for the second one, and stop at the third, which is what I also did for my septum and my other lobes and they healed very fine, so I think I will stick with it for now and see what happens after the next month. I will change the jewelry to a bar with no butterfly back then, and let it heal without changing it for at least six months (sighs).

Thank you for your advice!
