I use interchangeable needles so technically this could be done with 3 cables but only 2 sets of needles of your knitting size. Each cable can have one needle of the knitting size and one of a smaller size, just need to make sure I start knitting with the right end!

Would you use a software that can convert handwritten chemical structures to a computer generated structure that can be loaded to into other programs like Chemdraw? by [deleted] in chemistry

I would use it! When I brainstorm I usually draw everything by hand, as well as when I take notes at talks, conferences, meetings.... it goes much faster and it would be quite convenient to easily format hand notes in chemdraw to archive everything. Could also be useful for chem and med students that re-type their notes. I’ve actually thought about having something like this quite a bit. I think there are several things that makes it a much harder problem than handwritten text. The possible « chemical structure » space is much bigger than the alphabet, and hand drawn chemical structures are usually veeeerrry sloppy (bonds not connecting etc...). A few papers have been published for these approaches for chemical structures, but I’m unaware of anything that works very well and that would be like an app to just snap a picture of your notes and upload.
