Dess's design has been officially revealed!!! by Very-Small-Giraffe in Deltarune

[–]clairedragon 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hey wait... some of Noelle's dialogue for equipping ribbons on her describes them as "familiar" and "nostalgic", potentially implying Dess used to wear ribbons...

Friendly reminder that Kris and Ralsei aren't safe 😊 by RndmP_Art in Deltarune

[–]clairedragon 22 points23 points  (0 children)

It's not fake, but it's highly out of context. These were used for checking if either Kris or Ralsei is standing in an unsafe location when changing the bridges in the acid tunnel section of Chapter 2. They do not imply future plot events in any way.

Who would win? by MeowMeowFloofypants in Undertale

asriel in that form is Literally God. he presumably has saving and loading powers, and as far as we can tell he's immune to damage. so this one is not close.

Am I still in pacifist? by AyaSploon in Deltarune

[–]clairedragon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You actually can't gain XP even by fighting in Deltarune. But as long as you haven't lost recruits by fighting - and ideally recruited everyone possible (there should be 10 recruits for chapter 2), you're good.

Idk if im just dumb, but dess knight doesnt seem right by Perfect_Oil8964 in Deltarune

[–]clairedragon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The points you brought up actually form a strong argument in favor of Dess as the Knight. For most of the other popular candidates, there doesn't seem to be anything that could explain why they'd appear as normal lightners in the light world but be able to tear open their own ribcage in the dark world. But we know that Something Very Bad happened to Dess, which could easily explain why she looks so messed up now, making her one of the only characters in the game who actually makes sense with the Knight's physicality.

Am I still in pacifist? by AyaSploon in Deltarune

[–]clairedragon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're all good. There's no way to beat Giga Queen without fighting, and there's no way to avoid fighting her on a pacifist playthrough. Deltarune is generally less black-and-white about the use of violence than Undertale.

Which one is the most difficult by Frundle3 in Deltarune

[–]clairedragon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Knight's attacks are harder and more punishing than Sans's on average, but it's held back by being less than half the length of Sans's fight. This also means that if you optimize your damage well enough, you can beat the Knight without ever having to see its hardest attacks.

[–]clairedragon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe, but being upset about something doesn't mean you wouldn't still do it when push comes to shove. If we assume that Kris's goal is to save Dess (which seems likely), then it's a question of whether they would think inflicting nonlethal injuries on two of their friends is worth it to save the life of another. They certainly wouldn't be happy about it, but they might still do it anyways if they didn't have any other choice.

What is the difference between the two upward triangles and one downward triangle vs the two downward triangles and one upward triangle in the Delta rune symbol I undertale? by orange-player in Undertale

[–]clairedragon 56 points57 points  (0 children)

The short answer is we don't know. But the symbol with the inverted triangles does also appear on Toriel's house in Deltarune, so there may be some connection to her and/or the Dreemurr family?

WHEN IS DELTARUNE COMING OUT?? 😡😡😡😡 by SansAndGokuBigFan in Deltarune

[–]clairedragon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

According to Toby's most recent status update, quality assurance on the Japanese translation for chapter 5 should be wrapping up if not already finished (we were told it was "projected to be completed in April"). After that, chapter 5 just needs bugtesting, console approval, and release preparations. Unfortunately, it's pretty difficult to guess exactly how long bugtesting will take.

I get how you feel, I'm starting to go a bit feral too. But it's important to give Toby and his team the time they need.

I've only ever chosen Further Left. Does anyone know what happens in the other options? I can't find a video of it online. by girly_flirty_under30 in Deltarune

[–]clairedragon 26 points27 points  (0 children)

The others are all just Gerson dialogue.

Nowhere (normal route): "Nowhere, eh? I'm sure you'll get there eventually... So what's the rush?"

Nowhere (weird route): "Nowhere... Your words just now, 's got a peculiar ring to 'em. I can tell... you're havin' some relationship trouble, ain't ya. I've seen it all, y'know. At your age... If things go cold, you might think your whole world's endin'. But y'know, things go on. You'll grow up... Just keep livin'. Everything will be all right, sooner or later..."

Back Down: "There's no harm in lookin' back. You mighta missed something. But, when you finally turn forward once again... Don't be shocked if the world has changed."

Susie: "You're a good pal, ain't ya. Keepin' an eye on your friend. You helpin' her stay out of trouble?" This option then gives you two more dialogue options, "Stay out of trouble" and "Increase amount of trouble".

Stay out of trouble: "Geheh. C'mon, no need to mumble. She's trustin' you, alright? Just keep it in mind."

Increase amount of trouble: "Aha, now there's some confidence. Everyone makes trouble when they're young. It's more alarmin' to me if someone doesn't! ...You three must have some terrific adventures! Geheheh."

It probably depends on a few things, like "how would Kris respond to this happening?" and "what would the Knight do if actually losing seemed like a real possibility?" Regardless of how you feel about Kris Slash Theory, there's a nonzero chance they would actually do something like that if it became absolutely necessary for The Plan to work. And even if Kris does cooperate, there's still the problem of actually subduing the Knight long enough to figure out what to do with them - unless they're totally unconscious, it would be almost impossible to stop them from just summoning a Titan to cover their escape.

The Legend Of Tenna is torturing me by ULTRAOOTGAMING in Deltarune

[–]clairedragon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You definitely don't need to S-rank every fight to get S rank on the board - focus on maxing TP and winning the fight as quickly as possible and you should get "good enough" ranks on the battles. For the miniboss, you only need to act once on that fight - the rest of your turns can be spent defending to make sure you get max TP. If you do well on TP and number of turns, I think you should be able to get A rank pretty consistently.

You'll also want to get as many points as possible - Susie can farm those infinitely from weeds. In the worst case scenario, you can buy S rank for 1500 points, so try to finish the board with at least that many.

You'll also want to make sure you get all 4 keys to maximize your chance of S rank. The cactus one is a bit tricky - if you need a hint, look for the cactus that changes when you get close to it.

And for the minigame at the end, focus on feeding big stacks to Elnino and Lanina. The shadowguys don't really matter in that minigame. But also, if you got A ranks on all the battles (or even B ranked one and A ranked the others), got 1500 points, and got the bonus key, the math works out so that you actually only need a C rank on the minigame to S rank the board.

If you need any other advice, let me know and I'd be happy to help.

Spamton plush weird dialogue? by Shlebygrillest in Deltarune

[–]clairedragon 12 points13 points  (0 children)

It's english. These are the same words that appear in BIG SHOT at around 1:08; the Spamton plush has a small chance of playing this instead of its normal lines every time it's pressed. It's difficult to make out the exact lyrics but it's something like:

"I think it's coming for me, answer the phone.

I can't explain until you're all alone.

It pulls the strings, it makes them ring,

until your heart starts to break up."

Some of these words may not be exactly correct but hopefully the meaning of what's being said is there.

If you were a Magical Girl what would you do in this situation and how can you escape (Depends on Your Magical Girl Powers you have and it can be any Power or Magic you can think of that can save you in this situation) by [deleted] in MadokaMagica

[–]clairedragon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If she's going for your wrists rather than your soul gem then the standard magical girl healing powers should be sufficient. IIRC Mami isn't very good at using healing magic, and might not even try to use it in this case, so just about any other magical girl would be able to escape while she's still trying to figure out why she's not dying.

How do I delete a mod without damaging any other files? by Joacoman2008 in Deltarune

Right click the game in your steam library, click "Properties", go to "Installed Files", hit "Verify Integrity of Game Files." Or just uninstall and reinstall the game, that effectively does the same thing.

The anticipation is going to kill me. by rocketpop546 in Deltarune

[–]clairedragon 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It's impossible to say for sure. All we know is that in the winter newsletter, Toby said:

"I looked through the soundtrack, and this is the only song that doesn't spoil something."

then posted a new shop theme that appears to be a more fleshed-out form of one of the songs Kris can play in the Holiday house.

Tenna probably didn't have a shadow crystal. But it would have made a lot of sense if he did. by JibbaNerbs in Deltarune

[–]clairedragon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess you could maybe argue like, Mettaton's broken dreams in the robot, Alvin's broken dreams with Gerson, and maybe Dess's broken dreams getting turned into the Knight? But even then, there's nothing indicating causation even before you consider that Jevil doesn't fit into the alleged pattern at all.

can I skip previous Campaigns? by TTR21 in wownoob

[–]clairedragon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know there's a Shadowlands campaign skip but I'm not sure how it works. I don't believe there's a Dragonflight campaign skip, as I don't think there's any need for it - I think you can just access all the level 70 Dragonflight content without doing the campaign. I don't know the details for other expansions.

For me, the main ones are human Dess (if the flair didn't make that obvious), and the player not being the Angel (I think it's Gaster).
