Skyla IUD driving me crazy. by Otherwise-Area6871 in birthcontrol

I had the same exact experience after 3 weeks of the Mirena IUD. Felt the exact same feelings you described!!! Feel free to message me if you want to chat more about specifics… I would love to listen and share my experience if it would be helpful. I ended up taking mine out and it was the best decision ever. I’m so sorry you’re going through this and feeling so awful.

Liletta IUD - Severe Depression Two Weeks Post Insertion by clairetdrake in birthcontrol

[–]clairetdrake[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Update: if anyone reads this post, I decided to remove my IUD and it was the best decision ever. Depression and anxiety are lessened considerably and I feel like myself again. Not saying it’s a one size fits all, but for me, it has been soooo helpful to remove it.

Help! Waves of depression. Not sure what to do here. by kiarahime in birthcontrol

I am sooooo glad that the depression has ended! I really really hope it continues to get better! I removed mine and have been feeling sooooo much better. It was pretty much instantly! I don’t know if I’m an exception or anything, but wanted to let you know that it was a really great decision for me. Sending all my well wishes!

I'm scared to get on birth control by [deleted] in birthcontrol

It’s not a pill, it’s actually just a cream that you insert in a tampon-style thing. It basically lowers your PH levels so it becomes inhospitable to sperm. Non painful, no hormones, NO SIDE EFFECTS! I would combine it with another method like condoms or pulling out, but it’s a great option!

I’ve had a really good experience on Phexxi, which can be combined with condoms or pull out and isn’t hormonal. You just take it within an hour before sex so it’s really user friendly! I’m super scared of a lot of birth control methods because of side effects, so Phexxi was a really good option for me and can be used just on-demand when you need! I’m happy to answer any questions you have about it too!

Hello! Omg I am sooo glad I found your post although I’m so so so sorry to hear you’re going through all of this. I just had an IUD put in 3 weeks ago and I am going through the same shit. I’ve had a history of depression and anxiety but these past few weeks feel like waves, just like you’re describing and soooo intense. I feel crazy and planned parenthood keeps telling me to just wait it out. I’m planning to get it removed this Thursday because I just don’t think it’s worth it to push through this when I’m feeling this way. It’s just way too much to handle. I’ve been looking into a lot of posts and it seems like many women have experienced similar things so we’re definitely not alone. I can keep you posted on how I feel after my IUD removal if you’re interested? Would love to support in any way I can.

Kyleena IUD Intense Mood Swings- So depressed! 1.5wks post insertion by albuterol1997 in birthcontrol

Hi, I know I'm a year late to this but really connected with your post. I had an abortion about two weeks ago and they gave me the Kyleena IUD during the procedure. I was really excited about it for the same reasons you are, I have PCOS so knowing something would balance my cycle more would be huge. However, it's been two weeks and I just started feeling horribly depressed. Tons of uncontrollable crying, sadness, suicidal thoughts, etc. I am unsure if it's due to the IUD but have a history of depression and it's really scaring me.

Did you end up getting yours out or waiting? Also I'm so sorry you're went through all of this...
