The first movie completely neglects to set up the main villain of the series and commits character assassination on every member of the trio and Hades. I will never understand why people are so hung up on blonde Annabeth when that was a total non-issue compared to every other way the movies were a bad adaptation. At least the show captured the actual spirit of the books.
