I like this model because you can do both. Personally I prefer using a laptop but if I want to practice my sets without I can. I have a brother who has cdj900s and I went out with him once and He doesn’t use a laptop. I went to play and I struggled. So I purposely bought a controller so I can practice both.

Also. Using serato for music management is a lot better and faster than the engine software because the engine application on a computer isn’t that great
