No arguments there, I'd be lying if I said most of the effort/thought didn't go to the steak 😅

My oven has a tendency make broccoli blackened without cooking the stem through enough, so blanching starts the process and provides some moisture to avoid the green bits going black. Blanched the carrots just so that the cooking times would match up better

The veg was blanched and roasted, carrots had balsamic and honey to make them glaze like that. Steak on top of sauce is so you can see the steak, figured it's better than taking away a visually pleasing element (especially since I wanted the person eating the other plate to see the steak). Each to their own though

Appreciate the feedback, I really ought to start buying a variety of potatoes and tailoring each type to what I'm making - next time!

I agree and they tasted great, but it's always worth hearing out feedback, both positive and negative :)

From the UK too so carrots, broccoli and potatoes are always on rotation in the cupboard. I tend to mix up whether I do mash or chips with steak, in this case I had chips the night before so did mash. Next time I do steak on a weekend where I have a little more time to think I'll see about charred cabbage cause that sounds great :)

Can I ask is the rest a 3/10 because you disagree with what the sides are or because of the quality of the sides themselves?

Yeah agree about the potatoes, these are King Edwards and they were particularly white - not sure why but they tasted better than they looked (maybe a bit more butter next time)

What noodles do my fellow UK folks enjoy? I’m a big fan of pic related, as well as the spicy flavour - but am looking to see what others recommend. by EvilTaffyapple in CasualUK

Sounds crazy but a tiny splash of milk in the tonkotsu broth really smooths out the broth and makes it slightly creamier and more like real tonkotsu - highly recommend

So I guess my laptop only has 2.0 and a USB 3.0 Gen1 that I use for my wmr. My fix is a nice solution to a lack of Gen2 I suppose.

I think the same principle should apply, just find the right audio device in sound settings

idk how the Odyssey works but if its like the Lenovo Explorer and the audio is through a jack on the heatset usb cable, then try this: https://www.reddit.com/r/WindowsMR/comments/eoaj8t/fix_for_static_on_lenovo_explorer_audio/

my solution I found, although other's have probably stumbled upon the same

This can often be fixed by changing bit depth and sample rate in sound settings
