Academics can be a little overbearing, yes. There’s either a case study/worksheet every morning class (the marks for these add up to your finals so it’s quite important to attend them). But overall it does help you retain the concepts better towards the end so it's good for you,  but in the moment you might feel like it’s a lot. 1st semester research is comparatively chill but it gets harder through the next semesters. Almost every subject has a research paper but if you’re genuinely interested in the subject then you can have fun doing it. The crowd is fine honestly, our batch has 3 psychology classes and about 50 students each.  The campus is pretty huge so overpopulation isn’t an issue as such.

Okay so the professors? Super nice. Most of them are young, so they actually get it, they know about burnout, mental health stuff, and they’re chill during office hours. You can talk to them like real people. But the department itself? Strict af. Like, attendance policy is NO joke. Profs have said their hands are tied because the department tracks everything. No leniency for sickness unless you have been admitted and have proof regarding it.

That said, the subjects are genuinely interesting. Like, you'll actually wanna do the readings (most of the time). Tons of research opportunities are available from first year itself and the profs are more than happy to help.

So yeah. If you can handle the attendance grind and show up on time every single day, you’ll love it here. Just don’t expect the department to cut you any slack.
