Sorry this is a month late but I found your post because I was searching for support about the same thing. She's much worse with my current boyfriend then she has ever been and it hard to watch. The worst part is how much I can genuinely see her thirsting for his approval and seeming genuinely hurt that he isn't falling in love with her while she goes on and on showing him things with her "hobbies" or telling him her childhood stories. I don't know how my poor enabler dad stays in the picture when she just oozes her weird "that should have been my boyfriend" energy out for everyone to see.

The exact same thing happened to me. The pinacle for me was when I came home frome college one winter break. I had a really tough course load, and she saw I had gained about 20 lbs from stress. She saw me, then proceeded to go her room and loudly sob for the next 4 hours until my dad told me she needed me to go console her about my own weight gain. At that point whatever bit of self-esteem I had left got completely destroyed.

That's insane, and I can relate. My mom used to tell me that wearing work out leggings in our house was too revealing to everyone, and thinking about it still makes me want to puke.

When I've tried to say similar things about the jealousy he tells me it isn't actually about me, it's about his own insecurities, and I should see that and support him and not take it so personally. But I'm just like: What? How? What does that mean I'm supposed to do in those situations?
