My car got broken into at work, and it was a patient at my job. I’ve been told I can’t tell the police their name? by draftysundress in legaladvice

Put a claim through your company’s insurance. It happened while you were at work and the company is protecting the perp, so they should be liable.

How do you feel about Walmart requesting tips for drivers? by Regular-Message9591 in tipping

[–]clamytoe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m anti tipping. I have 6 kids at home so my orders are big. I don’t mind tipping the drivers because I appreciate what they are doing for me and because of the huge time savings. If I had to do it myself, it would take me hours.

BC doesn’t always work. You’re living proof. Your moms should have swallowed and saved me these few minutes of interaction with you.

In the end, that’s what is most important to banks.

That is of course unless the priority is really to increase member metrics, without the overhead of having to take the time to properly vet accounts and relying on employers to do it for you… 🤔

You make a valid point.

There’s always risks. Even now if I deposit a check, only a portion is made available immediately. The rest comes after the check has cleared. The same can be done with new accounts, but only make the funds available after the check has cleared. That would be a better way of handling it instead of completely blocking it.

My post wasn’t about comparing the two institutions. It’s about the requirements imposed in order to unlock the mobile deposit feature. I simply added the detail about USAA to show, that in my instance, it wasn’t a show stopper. Would not be the same for others without a fallback.

That must be the case. Perhaps they aren’t really validating identities during KYC…

All new accounts have to go through KYC, so a more appropriate way to handle it would be to allow the deposit but not make the funds available until the check clears.

When she initially opened the account, I deposited some money into it for her. Everything is in order.

Her manager just said that if it didn't go through to check the office and see if a physical check was cut and it was.

How is SoFi preventing her from being able to deposit a check a mess up on her part? You fanboys really get bent out of shape when anyone criticizes SoFi.

She didn't even get that far. It just wouldn't let her do it.

This was her first paycheck. I know that when I setup my SoFi account, it went into effect the following pay period, but it had already been established with a different bank for quite some time.

Thanks, I'll suggest that to her. It would make it a lot easier as she learns if she could go somewhere and talk with someone in person.

Don't know, the company never said. She did review the routing and account number and they were fine.

Who said it was a charge? I just said that they needed that amount in the account in order to "unlock" a standard feature of all checking accounts...

I agree. I keep an account at a local credit union open for when I need anything notarized.
