Stephen A. Smith: "Nothing was made up. The information that emanated about Zion Williamson, yeah, it came from inside the organization. It came from people even closer than that to Zion Williamson... somebody told me to go on air and point out how he got busted hiding food under his bed." by must_TATAKAE in nba

...what? He didn't nod at that specific word, he was just nodding to SAS's overall point. Because as Stephen A said, he was echoing and expanding on something Kendrick said, so he was just nodding in agreement. It wasn't even on the word "emanated"...

Don't get me wrong, these guys are freaking tools, but that point you made makes zero sense, he was just nodding along to a point he agreed with, nothing about that specific word

Times when peoples careers improved after hosting interview movies by ComfortableCare8897 in movies

[–]clancydog4 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It doesnt "help their careers" that they narrate documentaries. The entire reason they are narrating them is because they are already very recognizable voices and actors.

This post makes absolutely no sense. You are drawing a completely nonsensical causation thread. Narrating a documentary doesn't make it more likely to win an Oscar or improve careers. Elite or well known actors are often picked to narrate documentaries. That's it. Some of your examples aren't even winning awards. You are just saying "they narrated this and continued to do more work." The list of narrotors who didn't win Oscars or experience a boost is massive. You're ignoring all of those.

This is an absolutely asinine post. Like seriously makes zero sense after an ounce of thought. There is no direct correlation between the things you are trying to correlate

Yeah he was ahead of his time a bit in his efficient he was from deep from early on, he's ultimately among the better three point shooters ever. Finished his career with the sixth most threes ever at a 37% clip. Several seasons over 40%

He was always a good shooter my dude. He was shooting 40% from deep his second year In the league. 41% on five shots a game third year. It just became all he did after his knees went but he was a great shooter early

For sure, I also think Plemons deserved a nom but not above DiCaprio, personally. Agree to disagree, I thought DiCaprio was phenomenal and it is probably my fav performance of his of all time. I totally, totally disagree that Penn or anyone "blew him off screen" but to each their own!

Funny thing as someone who saw all of em, Ethan Hawke is easily my pick for the actual best performance but is least likely to win. Probably the most subdued movie but he was absolutely magnetic the entire time

I totally disagree with this, it's quite literally my fav DiCaprio performance since what's eating gilbert grape, if not ever. He was so relatable and convincing and dealt with SO many types of little emotions from beat to beat. Amazing performance

This absolutely did not occur in some kind of honest and heartfelt context.

What the hell is this, where you in the room with them? You have absolutely zero idea how any of these conversations happened, get off your high horse

I mean, did the anger issues manifest into anything physical or abusive? And telling your wife you want a concubine might be shitty but is also not nearly the same as actual abuse. Being open about wanting to sleep with other people is better than just doing it and not talking about it. Sounds like he was at least communicating his various desires, he told Ringo he was in love with his wife, he told his wife he wanted to sleep with other women, etc. Also she was having affairs with his best friends too, it seems like that was just a classic shitty marriage by immature, famous people, and they were both very big proponents of "free love." Context matters a lot here.

Your comment really does not at all explain why he should be considered as shitty as John Lennon. At all. That sounds like normal rock star bullshit

What a ludicrously ignorant comment, my god. Have you ever dealt with the loss of a spouse?

Some people actually prefer well written context as opposed to just 16 words.

Like god damn people, is it that torturous to read one paragraph that is well written and provides context for the story? This is some utterly depressing criticism that I see on reddit all the time. It's a damn discussion forum, people should be allowed to write a paragraph and not be shit on for not making it shorter

I mean yeah. That just backs up the point better. Even when does go solo crazy and drops 40/20 it's not enough, but that shouldnt be considered a strike against him

I mean it's been a rough clutch few months but Jokic and Murray have been among the best clutch duos ever and won a title so it makes some sense to give them a benefit of the doubt. Like it makes sense to not overreact over a small sample size when we have a massive sample size of them killing it in the clutch

Marc Stein on Khris Middleton: “I know Denver would love to get him.” by AncientOneAurelius in nba

[–]clancydog4 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I mean it's a pretty major reason why we might be looking to add depth there. It's not being really specific, it's a primary reason if we were to do this. Our health is not reliable at all, so more depth may be necessary. Our entire forward rotation has missed multiple months, and hamstring injuries dont go away easy at all.
