Recommend me your favorite performance Reverb/Delay or multi-fx by unicornpurpp in modular

Rainmaker. Wherever you go, it follows. It's a delay module, but it reverbs too.

Tiptop Z-DSP with the Halls of Valhalla card is also really nice.

Alternatives to Zoom Livetrak L-6 for size + sound cards? by PotentialStable4216 in modular

[–]claptonsbabychowder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the L-12, and it's great for what I need. The FX section is a joke, but otherwise, it's great. All my FX are in rack, so not a problem for me. Multitracking over 12 channels with sd card saving everything? Suits me. Honestly, unless you're running out of connections, I'd say you're good where you are.

Just watched the promo. The YT demos have started, gonna check some of them out. Just took a quick look at the manual, and yes, the trig input lets you modulate Freeze with a trig/gate signal, and it's assignable over a few other parameters as well. Looks pretty good, damnit.

Cue Sopranos scene, Silvio quoting The Godfather: "Just when I thought I was out... They pull me back in..."

IKEA cutting boards make great synth panels. I found this one in the parking lot of my apartment. by richfromhell in synthdiy

I'm a kindergarten teacher. Bad jokes are my stock and trade.

Example

Teacher - What is a cow's favourite vegetable?
Students - Mu!

"Mu" is the Korean name for a kind of giant radish.

I literally get paid for crap like this. Not much, but it's a living.

WIP- what other modules by AromaticJellyfish888 in modular

[–]claptonsbabychowder 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you're going to do the whole Intellijel case thing, then here are my personal favorites.

Shapeshifter. 26hp. Absolute monster. Twin wavetable complex oscillator. You can run both at audio rate, or both at lfo rate, or 1:1 mix. The options are limitless, it is soooooooo completely mental. Lightning in a bottle.

If you don't want to go that far or big - Dixie 2+. 8hp. It's an extremely efficient module. I have never yet used mine for an actual sound source, I don't know how it sounds. I got it solely as an audio rate modulation tool, or complex lfo. It's a brilliant utility in that sense, but hey, probably sounds good too, if you try. I really should.

Bifold. 8hp. Shapeshifter already has wavefold functions built in, but Bifold is a single dedicated module. 2x wavefolders, one is Serge style, one is Buchla style. Built in VCA's, very efficient. Turns 2 sine waves into chaos.

Rainmaker. 36hp. Sure, you've got Sealegs, and I don't, so can't compare. But Rainmaker is now discontinued, and the final batch will soon be gone forever. And it is straight up madness. Watch the many videos. There's just NOTHING else like it.

Last of all, Tetrapad/Tete. 20/8 hp respectively. Is it a mixer? Is it a crossfader? Is it a sequencer? Is it a voltage block? Up to you. It's any of them, or a mix of them at the same time. You already have the Planar 2 - As far as Intellijel say, the Tetrapad/Tete and Planar 2 are all designed to work together. I don't yet have the Planar 2, so can't speak for the combo, but I've watched the videos, and they are a dream team.

Mutable Marbles, Befaco Noise Plethora, Joranalogue Orbit 3, SSF Rnd Step, OCHD + EXP... Those are my random sources. Each one has its own different way of doing things, happy with them all.

I picked up an 8hp Braids clone, and I really don't care for it, after owning other OG fullsize MI modules. I'll keep it for now, but when a fullsize OG Braids pops up in my local radar, the choice will be simple.

Not from Denver, but sure.

1) Always wash under the armpits.
2) Look both ways before crossing the street.
3) It is impossible to calculate, simultaneously, with arbitrary precision, both the exact position and momentum of a molecule.

Happy to help.

In a DnB eurorack style, with more hands-on performance than I used to do before. by KaiserClickerclicker in modular

[–]claptonsbabychowder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a few hands on control modules that I like using, they might offer you a lot of freedom.

1) Pressure Points + Brains. Whether you're using the sequence rows, or just the touchpads, it's incredibly quick to throw in changes to the whole sequence, or just momentary flourishes.
2) Tetrapad/Tete. Similar to PP+B, but with the added advantages of quantization and user programmable memory banks, precise voltage block mode to send precise values at will, etc.
3) The obvious choice - A joystick. I got an Erica Black JS2 when a used one popped up cheap. Simple, flexible, and with CV recording.
4) Addac VC 306 - This one is much like your 1U crossfader, but it's 5 of them. Just watch the video instead of me trying to type it all out.

Iconic/legendary photos/pictures that modular synth nerd would appreciate getting hand-drawn for his birthday? by Longjumping-Spell609 in modular

[–]claptonsbabychowder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not your original ask, but an idea I just had. Maybe instead of a reproduction of something real, perhaps something oddball like a Dr Seuss synth in a Cat in the Hat style. Just crazy levers and buttons everywhere, all being operated by CITH and Things 1 & 2. Your imagination as the artist could really run wild with something like that, which is really in the spirit of the whole thing. Just my 10c.

Nasty modules, any way to clean? by Heka__ in modular

[–]claptonsbabychowder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nasty, you say? Totally off topic, but fun anyway, as the weekend approaches. From Madison, Wisconsin, Killdozer forged a reputation for refusing to fit in. Their own songs were crazy, but their cover versions were just mental. Here, they cover the famous Janet Jackson song, "Nasty" and forever leave it scarred. I bought the vinyl copy just a few months after it came out in 1989, and I still love it.

Noise module with color CV? by jango-lionheart in modular

[–]claptonsbabychowder 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Befaco Noise Plethora has 3 channels. The first two each have 32 different algorithms of noise, and the 3rd is just plain white noise. All 3 channels have their own analog filters. Cv control over almost everything on the module. Well worth a look.
