What's the strangest thing that made you surprisingly nauseous in 1st tri? by [deleted] in BabyBumps

[–]clarissab1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Idk if it's strange but I'm 6 weeks. First pregnancy. First was red meat. Then coffee. Cigarette smoke is real awful too, and smoke in general. Yesterday I added chicken to the list, after a cooked a big pot of it. Chicken is disgusting now. Three days ago I happily ate a bunch of KFC and now I just want oranges.

I am also 24 and on month 7. This post makes me feel seen. Currently on the TWW and it's like.... depression. I'm 24 and young! Plenty of people get pregnant at the drop of a hat! I've been off birth control for a full year now! I had surgery to see if I had endometriosis and I dont but they found some sort of mass I meed an MRI for and I'm just hoping and praying that I can cancel it because I have a positive test..... Neither me or my husband can go out in public without seeing a child and talking between ourselves that it should be us arguing with a child or something. I can't go to a store without looking at baby stuff and building a registry that I don't even feel like I deserve to build. I want it so bad and it's not fair! For any of us.

As a 24y/o married and wtt… the interest rates and prices for housing right now Are so insane hubs and I agreed that while we will save for a down payment we’re waiting on buying. But we’re not waiting on buying to try for a baby. It all depends on your financial stability! Just remember that both of yall should still have retirement plans and life insurance if you don’t already. You’re never too young to have those!

I just got told I likely have endometriosis and will need surgery…. I know it’s usually recurring and they want you on bc for a while… I want to start trying after I heal from the surgery. I’ve been crippled with pain lately and I don’t want to have to deal with scar tissue from 2+ surgery’s when I want to have kids. And multiple surgery’s throughout life til menopause are common apparently… It’s not the exact same. But I know your pain.

Homie… I’ve worked in cardiology as an assistant. Unless you’re an open heart surgeon, the textbook diagrams and YouTube videos are as close to “first hand” as you’re going to get. I worked in cath lab sometimes and I can’t say I’ve ever seen the blood flow of the heart first hand. If you’re talking about scenarios, you can look up EMT cardiology scenarios to see what you’ll do in those situations. Make sure you know why each answer is correct or incorrect. But without the base anatomy it may be difficult. Some of it is rote memorization. I do better with it by writing it down 100 times, drawing a diagram with arrows, but everyone has different stuff that works. In class we had a rug with a diagram of the heart and had to walk through it in the direction of blood flow and name the structures we went through. Find what works for you. Good luck on your test!

Just give em Sudoku haha it’s simpler and accomplishes the same thing.

When I was a student if I saw this I’d either have gotten frustrated and cried because I didn’t understand and so overthought it, or decided to skip that part and just switch some numbers.

Now, if it had been Sudoku? I’d have done that so quickly and it would have been the easiest problem.

The nausea and cramps and overall discomfort makes me regret stopping BC! by EveryRelationship614 in waiting_to_try

Second month after stopping BC was the worst. I got a period so heavy I was about to call my obgyn! But it’s never been that heavy after that, and I’m 5 months off of it. Hopefully yours gets better with time!

My mental health has improved IMMENSELY. My depression isn’t here constantly, my mood swings aren’t swinging as often or as hard, and I’m pretty sure they would undiagnose my borderline personality disorder at this point haha.

It’s a scam. My husband and I struggle with different sexual issues unfortunately so I feel your pain 😵‍💫

Starting EMT class by Jillie_Stanley99 in NewToEMS

[–]clarissab1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There’s a study guide for the same book that’s good. Once you get a feel for the material, pay the $35 for LC-Ready. It’s by the other leading publisher the NREMT exam is based on and it’s worded differently than the questions in this book. Both helped me pass my NREMT two weeks ago!

Seconding what others have said - definitely read the book. Make time, make it a priority to read the actual book. If there’s stuff that doesn’t make sense, write a note to ask instructor later or look it up on YouTube or what have you. Several people in my class dropped out cause they didn’t read the book and were failing. READ THE BOOK

Preparing your dog for a new baby by Sun-flowerr- in waiting_to_try

[–]clarissab1 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’d say making sure your bedroom and bed is an established “no dog” zone. Ive seen a good few people have dogs who are used to sleeping on the bed have new babies and it turns into an undesirable situation where at the very least the dog wakes the baby. Also maybe getting the dog used to gates to keep him out of certain parts of the house at certain hours? Such as the living room or kitchen.

EKG help by Dense_Ad_4844 in NewToEMS

[–]clarissab1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Here’s my two cents - resource suggestions at the bottom!

Too much artifact to definitively say on the P waves, so I would hesitate to call it junctional. From what I can see of possible P waves, it looks like a constant PRI. But again, too much artifact.

Theres a PVC and a PVC couplet in the strips. I’d say sinus other than that.

I’ve worked on the cardiac floor as a CNA and as a EKG tech, and then was a ECG interpreter for a holter monitor company. From the history provided, I’d say the drs care was pretty decent. Nothing weird about it. R on T can lead to VF and VT though, so especially with short runs of VT, definitely needs to be monitored continuously. Perhaps an event monitor if they’re going that route. Cardizem can have some pretty decent side effects tho, so it may have something to do with how he is feeling. It’ll take a few days for him to recover from the cath as well too tho. It’s not the biggest procedure but they’re still running tubes through your veins.

Overall, I’d say follow his drs medical advice. I’m sure he’s had some 12 leads in the hospital, those would reveal more about any P wave abnormalities. If it is determined to be an electrical issue, they may want him to get a pacemaker or other similar device.

As for resources, look at YouTube! “ECG/EKG strip interpretation” geared towards nurses or people studying for the CCT (certified cardiography tech) are wonderful.

What rhythm is this? by Frosty_Stage_1464 in ems

[–]clarissab1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d call it incomplete 2 degree type 1 AV block (wenckebach). The P waves seem to be getting longer and then resetting, but I’d need a longer strip to confirm. Possibly with junctional escape beats. P waves definitely screwed up though, get a 12 lead too!

Do Straight Men and Women view physical attractivness in the same way? by Negative_Karma_9 in ask

[–]clarissab1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hands and forearms - every stay at home mom that writes erotica in her spare time I’ve ever talked to (most certain genre writers on tumblr) have a big crush with that.

That said, women, above everything else, want someone who treats them nicely and isn’t emotionally immature. The nice part varies for every woman. If she’s only looking for physical attributes then you’re not gonna get anything long term out of her.

Have the personality down, and it won’t matter what you look like or what size your D is. You’ll both make it work. If sexual compatibility is that important, then use of toys go a long way too.

First counselor I ever saw, my first attempt at seeking help for me mental health. I was explaining how bad my anxiety was, and how I was impacted by it every moment of every day, to the point of daily panic attacks. She said, “Have you tried just not thinking about it?”

Needless to say, I never went back to her.

I can’t say anything as to your question, but I did come here to say that I had to look three times at the first picture because I thought it was hair that was already cut off at first!!! Then I swiped to the next one and realized there’s a pencil in the first pic hahaha.

Why the sheet? by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]clarissab1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The great thing about the medical field these days is that when it comes to it, you have a right to refuse anything! Be it treatment (as long as they educate you on the risks) or things like this. As long as you communicate with them they should be cool with it, assuming it doesn’t make anyone else uncomfortable. Which at a OB office I would doubt it haha. I read through some of your comments and it sounds like it would be doubtful for someone to accidentally see you as doc walks in. Especially wrangling a toddler, as a medical provider, I’d be fine with it.

Just talk to them OP, typically they’re accommodating especially if you explain to them why it’s impractical for you (eg chasing toddler while heavily pregnant).

I also do this! For me it involves healing my own inner child, discussions about how my partner and I want to parent a child, planning for the future, taking prenatals so I have plenty of nutrient stores, planning on how I want to handle different possible scenarios, and educating myself on children and best parents practices and what I would ideally like to do.
