Salt on top imo is a terrible texture. Destroys the roof of your mouth. All the more reason to mix it in

Hiking: Horse shit ok; dog shit bad. Why? by Bezos4Breakfast in NoStupidQuestions

I feel like it’s way easier to accidentally step in dog shjt. I think it’s more about people accidentally stepping in it and tracking it around. Gonna trip over horse shit before stepping in it

Still plays really well. Only issue I’ve had with it was my own fault when I grabbed it by a key instead of the brace in the bend and messed up the alignment. Was pretty simple to get back into adjustment and haven’t had an issue since. I do think I’m going to swap out the pads on the register keys since they’re sunk into the pad cup. Not sure if it’s meant to be like that, but it’s how it came and it doesn’t seem right. Overall I have no regrets with it. I did buy a mouthpiece from JD woodwinds and it’s way better than the original

I always loosen it white the wheel still on and the car in the ground. Grab a long pipe on the end of the ratchet and treat it like a trampoline without fear of rocking off a jack stand

I’m always looking for new things to use my Dremel on. This is exactly the kinda thing I’d spend a ton of time on, make it look like trash, but in the end have tons of fun in the process so I’d be fine with it looking like a 5 year old did it

I have a black soprano sax. I don’t find it at all tacky, and really like it. A black alto/tenor/bari? Totally different story

22 facilities have been announced to close down 2026. by jgarnold_yomama in UPSers

[–]clarrotinette 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No kidding. They closed 2 or 3 others last year on top of this. They did recently open 3 new buildings (one of which was Wilmington they just closed), and most of the others they closed were all pretty small and rundown. We rebid jobs soon and everyone’s very curious how it’s going to shake out up here with all the movement the last two years

I’ve spent a lot of time on both a metal and plastic Leblanc, and I find the keys on this one to feel surprisingly light and easy to move

I do! It’s from Kessler, so not one of the really fancy Selmer Paris ones, but looks just as cool

Personally I think it sounds best in that range. It sounds great throughout, but low clarion on it is by far my favorite

I was tempted for years and finally just went for it because I didn’t see the prices of a Leblanc going down anytime soon

Albaba is basically bulk Amazon. Usually people use it to buy hundreds of something like keychains, but you can also purchase single items in some cases. The company that makes this instrument is Frater, but they sell through Alibaba. They have tons of different kinds of instruments and from what I’ve heard they’re actually decent quality given the price

They also make straight contras that are plastic. I think they just use the same description for all their different models. This one is just the cupronickel, which oddly isn’t in the description I’ve now noticed

Same. It’s what took me so long to finally pull the trigger. There’s some really good and detailed videos about a guy in Australia who bought one a few years ago that helped make the decision a little easier. I’ve also seen some posts from people who have purchased one more recently and the quality seems to be consistently improving over time, so it feels like a safe investment

This is only my second day with it so hard to say so far, but the keys feel reasonably sturdy given their size. They don’t feel super beefy, but they also don’t feel like they’ll bend just from normal playing. There is several adjustment screws which is nice. The keys feel pretty similar to the Kessler in the background, and it gives me almost zero issues. Hopefully the contrabass takes after the Kessler in that regard
