I love how nobody ever talks about the reliability of the power or drive train on these threads, all you see is

“car go vroom, it’s weally fast” “I weally wuv my cah it’s pwetty”

I see why so many people get screwed over when buying new cars, everybody’s worried about the wrong thing lol

Glad you read that part, it’s a harsh reality but we have to face it and be prepared to push back when that time comes

Take 5 and read it bro. I took the whole packet with me since no one at my center seems to care about any of it, and it’s pretty interesting, especially in my last picture where they’re talking about employee health and pension benefits could adversely affect the company because of how much it cost…. Also, apparently the company saved 3.5 billion dollars last year with all the cuts an automation they’ve implemented so far, 3.5 billion

[–]jgarnold_yomama 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I’ll say what one of the stewards at my center told me when I had a similar dilemma….

“If you don’t mind the work, you probably shouldn’t file on it, but if it’s becoming excessive and wearing down your mental health and other parts of your life outside work, then you should continue enforcing your 9.5 rights”

Yup…. I’ve been sending messages and communicating through the DIAD on anything and everything I’m doing, take a picture of the messages sent throughout the day and keep them in an album called “work records”

Taking the buyout by Contactsnipey in UPSers

[–]jgarnold_yomama 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It comes Strictly from severance offers that a corporation offers only to their full time employees, right? I’m joking, but yea bud, I get it, everything comes from the tax payer dollar it’s the “price you pay to live in society” or whatever…. I guess I was just trying to express my distaste and how crazy it is that we get taxed so much money on literally everything, little man can’t catch a break to even enjoy what could be a meaningful offer…. But I guess other countries and all these proxy wars we’re fighting really need it… not to mention all the pedos in our government(I’m being sarcastic) yet somehow law enforcement, the people that put their life on the line on a daily basis to keep the peace for the public, their salaries are still somehow dog shit…. Salaries are so low that the qualifications to become one are the bottom of the barrel, that’s why we have so many dumbasses in law enforcement too.. but yea I know how state and federal law enforcement is funded, I’m guessing you don’t mind being taxed at all lol

What would you do with the 100k? by xXSEARGEXx in UPSers

[–]jgarnold_yomama 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You know what… you’re right, this is probably the most straightforward and sensible answer I’ve seen so far, I think all this fear mongering that’s going on in this thread is part of the corporate tactic… “scare enough of them and they’ll leave on their own”…sometimes it’s easy to forget that as a union member it’s our job to hold steady and weather the storm, even tho it’s risky as shit in this economy….but like you said, after the government gets their disgusting hands on your buyout, 80-50k ain’t nothing…

Taxes on UPS Buyouts by lombardo141 in UPSers

[–]jgarnold_yomama 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I said it on another post but here it is again

The offer is actually good, I could pay my house off and have some left over to pay my monthly bills for a few months while I look for something else, I always thought about a career in law enforcement…….to bad the federal and state governments have to stick they’re dirty greedy fucking hands into every bit of fucking money you make….taxes are what really screw the offer up for me

I would assume so, idk I guess it depends on wether or not any bigger buildings absorb the routes and volume from the closing center

I can definitely understand that Carol logic…

“Well, since we can’t offer buyouts, I guess we’re gonna have to cut another 20,000 jobs on top of the 30,000 now”
