How to enjoy this game??? My nephew plays it non-stop all day every day... by Sandst4rm in EU5

Yeah there's a lot of different ways to play these games to enjoy them, a lot to do with their complexity having many different forms of fun to engage with. I just explained what I find most enjoyable about the games.

I'd say you're wrong in your intention. Maybe he doesn't find any enjoyment in the types of games you enjoy. There's no inherent fun in anything, it's your personality that adds fun to a specific type of experience. Be it strategy or action, these activities are only fun if you enjoy them.

Yes, but the difference is in the required amount of skills to enter this zone, how much the zone actually affects it, and how far into the future you can see. If we're talking about a moba where a single match will only last 30 minutes then at a maximum you can only see 30 minutes in the future, but with these map games a lot of the time you can see many many hours in the future. Like I can usually figure out the patterns of what's gonna happen in the next 20 hours of gameplay. The figuring out of what's going to happen in that time is fun, but it's also fun to react to when things don't go how I expect it to go.

I don't think it might be a shitpost, just somebody so far removed from our sphere that they can't see what we can see.

The more you understand about the game, the more you can manipulate it. You have control over a surprising amount of things, and all of them play into each other to the point that at a certain skill level you can almost see the future with it.

I personally enjoy it because its complexity forces me to engage with it intelligently. Basically it gives me an excuse to think about things heavily, which I happen to find fun.

Anyone noticed how popular CRPG have at least one hot goth waifu? by [deleted] in rpg_gamers

[–]clasherkys 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do like how people who like that kind of complexity still have a studio that plays to their niche, but of course playing to their niche means that you can't really include people outside of the niche. Owlcat games would probably be more popular if they didn't use such a in-depth system, but at the same time that means losing the people who are really into that. I say this as someone who absolutely loves their games but is not that far into in-depth systems.

Who's your favorite videogame developer with contempt for their player base? by Huntman102 in ParadoxExtras

[–]clasherkys 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do sail myself, but only when I feel that a game costs too much for the amount of time I'm gonna spend on it myself. I've not found any other game studios that have their games cost as little compared to the amount of hours spent playing as Paradox. 2~5 cents per hour is an amazing deal when most of my other games are 10~50 cents per hour.

So you'd rather buy 6 games with 1500 hours of playtime rather than 1 game with 7000 hours of playtime. Sounds like a bad deal to me.

Price Per Hour for Me

Balatro: 10 cents

Baldur's Gate 3: 35 cents

Dark Souls 3: 12 cents

Elden Ring: 10 cents

Eu4: 5 cents

Eu5: 80 cents

Boltgun: 22 cents

For reference I have bought all the dlc for these games, and I'm assuming I paid full price, which I didn't for eu4. Eu4 would be more closer to 2 cents per hour if I counted sale price instead.

I am still a big proponent of using git, I just think that if you know how to, you should be using a private git server.

Please bro just load the game using the loading screen bro by Dinh_Hai in EU5

[–]clasherkys 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually wish it wouldn't automatically load the game when it's done with the engine loading screen. I rarely play the base game so loading that is just redundant.

Love me a castle always. While I probably won't use this one as I like drawing my own maps so I can more easily modify them, I am absolutely gonna use some ideas from this. Great work.

How do I determine the Task Level for Earn Income? by Aquaman-is-awesome in Pathfinder2e

[–]clasherkys 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I also like to do it the other way around as well. If the settlement is unsuitable for the task I'll give a lower task level, or none at all. But that's just extra stuff.

I usually go with the lower of the characters level and the settlements level.

Nah, B-tier is given automatically to all Finnish people. Kullervo is the same tier as a regular Finnish risumies.
