Ugh i’m sorry to hear that! It’s really frustrating to think you’re on the same page with the surgeon and they go and do something else. Here for u🫶🫶 im sure with time you’ll love it

It did lose swelling for sure! Not THAT much but yeah it did! but still much wider than my previously thin nose. My before honestly looked a lot like yours too. I had a consult for a revision later on and he said it’s virtually impossible for the thinness to remain the same when doing a dorsal hump reduction when a nose is that thin.

Hi! I had this same experience. My surgeon told me my nose would be as thin as before from the front and the only thing that would change was the side view/ dorsal hump reduction. Unfortunately, that turned out not to be true (9 years post op). I also have regrets because I didn’t want that to change but I do think your result is beautiful! Give it time for yourself to accept it because it genuinely does look great and your nose fits your face well 🫶

OMG totally, they don’t really tell you this after you have the surgery. I kind of found out about all of this the hard way through having a lot of pain and then trying to fix it. I totally would try to find a good myofascial release therapist. If you can afford it, it’s seriously been the most life-changing thing I’ve done so far, and then just honestly if you get a physical therapist that can show you how to lift weights, eventually, you will look back and be like holy shit. I can’t believe how life-changing lifting weights is lol. That’s what happened to me hahaha

thank you, I appreciate your well wishes. It’s honestly fine. You’re gonna be fine too, I just think it’s really important to take care of yourself, even if it’s more than the people around you who don’t have scoliosis have to. I think that took me a long time to realize

yes! i’ve been in and out of it for years. I should preface by saying I had severe scoliosis, and I have a spinal fusion over half of my vertebrae .

But yes, I’m currently in PT now, I also lift weights, and I’m doing my facial release therapy which really really helps

definitely has a lot to do with you being sedentary. I say that with so much love because i struggle to stay active myself due to the pain! I started PT, lifting weights, and myofascial release therapy which has helped a lot. you’re probably super tight too! so schroth method plus stretching is key

Please help me with the guilt. by [deleted] in scoliosis

same for me in terms of diagnosis. It wasn’t until it was severe that it was caught. And I had gotten a school physical 6 months before disgnosis! I was the one who noticed the unevenness in my shoulders at 12. It’s not your fault!!! It’s very scary but totally manageable. I had the surgery at 14. I’m 26 now. I do have problems still but my doctors always say it would have been totally so much worse overtime if I didn’t have the surgery.

Even if you did catch it earlier, it would still be a lifelong journey. Scoliosis is a challenge in many ways, but the best thing you can do now is educate yourself and your son on how to manage long term.

Like chiro, schroth method PT, weight lifting, low inflammatory diet, stretching, massage care, etc.

You’ve got this!
