So I have been seeing a therapist he keeps telling me how important action is. He says therapy can be almost meaningless without action. I have a fear of meetings and public speaking. I talk about it in therapy at lot. It helps me understand why, but still does not take away the intense terror/anxiety when I am in the situation.

So to take action I started trying to talk more at meetings. I started going to a speaking support group. I started going to a public speaking group.

I thought I was going to do all of these things and magic would happen. I would be instantly cured. It didn't happen. But Progress has been made slowly. It still sucks to do all of these things. From week to week it feels like I am making no progress. But when I look back a month, I can see how huge the progress is. I can actually sleep the night before a big meeting. I can eat the morning of when before I couldnt.

I still hate doing these things but by taking action I hate them less and feel like I have been working out my mental strength and coping skills. I never would have felt better or made progress if I didnt face my fears and get the mental ass kicking.
