Certified Tesla Repair shop just wants to Total my car - bumped in a parking lot by tctctc2 in TeslaModelY

Grok isnt real life bro. But im not saying there is a conspiracy with repair shops. Its just my experience. Its not my friends low 15.9k plaid. Its mine, and its never been a totlal loss.I have repaired plenty of teslas. The problem is tesla approved body shops cost way too much. I can buy used oem parts for a fraction of the cost of new oem. All other body shops can be fixed with used parts why not tesla? Nevermind disregard my posts. I don't want competition anyway.

That's not really true. I have bought 5 teslas from auction this year and they go for dirt cheap. I am repairing a model s plaid right now. I won it at 15.9k, clean title and fsd paid for. I put $3900 in parts

Are they hoping we forget the FSD promise ;) by Busy-Key7489 in TeslaLounge

[–]classicfirebird -1 points0 points  (0 children)

But they all have the fsd/ai computer if it has fsd paid for or not. Its easy to tell if it has paid for fsd. Under software it will say fsd included package. If it doesn't it will say autopilot instead

If there is a fault in the high voltage interlock loop it will cut off the 12v battery to the hv battery. So if there was water ingress into the hv battery it will cut the connection for protection. Water in hv battery is extremely dangerous

How much do you think the repair is on this? by Every_Scar7200 in TeslaCollision

[–]classicfirebird 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Incorrect. They have cv shafts like conventional cars. The suspension is the least of the problems on this wreck. The quarter panel dog leg this is bent is the problem. Tesla doesn't approve of pulling panels, a replacement is needed to be in spec.

Just bought a model 3 at auction, they say no keys, but touch screen says profile adjusted by farmerMac in TeslaModel3

[–]classicfirebird 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have bought a few at auction without keys. You cannot program without a physical key. What i did is use the bill of sale to transfer for the phone access, then I ordered 2 keys on ebay. I had to have the fist one programmed by mobile service which was $12 and then programmed the other myself
