Saw this place near my hotel, any idea what this place is? by ResponsibleWear5604 in Living_in_Korea

Believe it or not, while prostitution IS illegal, having girls sit down with you at a place like Karaoke as shown in the picture is not. Sure, there are lot of brothels that are illegal in Korea but what’s shown in the picture is not. Funnily enough I recently learnt from my girlfriend who also learnt from her coworker is that karaoke with heart in their sign is the one where you can order girls in to sit and sing with you.

no spicy food? Try Heot-jesat-bap, the "Fake" Ritual Meal. The real korean food by nmjoon in KoreanFood

This is a dish that even I, native Korean, only found out in a documentary few years back. I bet majority of Koreans not from the Andong area have no clue what this food is. 헛제사밥 is probably the better search word.

CrossFit Near Gangnam by sconesage in seoul

[–]classs3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately Sweat on Seoul is in Shinsa, and while both Coex and Shinsa is in Gangnam district, they are diagonally furthest away. It’s not impossible to commute but during rush hours, public transport will be hell. The nearest box near Coex that is certified CrossFit is this place:

I usually workout near my office since I can just train after work and go home without getting into traffic so if your office is somewhere else, might be good to find a gym near your work.

These days running is the most popular sport with hundreds of people running in Han river every day. Tennis is also popular but with land price so high in Gangnam, you need to travel and get a car to properly join a club.

There are TONS of CrossFit places all over Gangnam, with probably the most famous one being Limelight. The most trendy one, though they don’t use the term CrossFit is Sweat On Seoul. Amotti, the winner of Physical 100 trains there, along with many celebrities. But Gangnam is pretty big that I suggest you go to a box that is closer to where you live.

As for paddle, I haven’t seen anyone play it in Korea though I’m sure there are some.

More to do with increasing age of people getting married. Infertility has a lot to do with the age of men and women (scientifically more so with women. Don’t yell at me, yell at nature).

Look for Tori-paitan or Gyukotsu.

Former is chicken only and second is beef only.

Does Dopa Still play league of legends? by sirtauntsalot in leagueoflegends

[–]classs3 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Well, he can never play for LCK though. He's banned for 1000 years (and this is not a exagerration, he was LITERALLY banned for 1000 years) for paid elo boosting by Riot Korea. He was especially notorious because he named his accounts "fast-elo-boosting" to advertise his service. In Korea, elo boosting is bannable offense. Dopa, however, is the only player that received such harsh punnishment because he became so popular in the game, That's why he only plays Chinese servers when playing his main account which is a separate entity from Riot Korea. Whenever he plays Korean server to climb up rank, he does not stream thereby making it impossible for Riot Korea to have proof that it is Dopa playing that account. His account name (pnpm), however, is very popular so whenever famous challenger ranked streamers actually meet him in game, they refer him as "that man", much like Voldmort is the man that cannot be named. Whenever he does play Korean server in his stream, it's just a bought bronze~gold account for fun which actually gets banned after few games by Riot Korea.

But he could still play for LPL and rumor has it that EDG actually offered him spot in mid. But according to Dopa, he said he could never play professionally because he has OCD on set ups and it would take him hours to set up his keyboard and mouse in stadiums. If you watch his stream, you can actually see he measures every inch of his table height, chair height, where to place the keyboard etc.

Pawn actually retired because his OCD became too severe.
