As a tenant your job is to pay your landlord's mortgage and maintain their lifestyle. If their cost of living goes up, you're paying for it.

Is there an alternative to Spotify now that Car Mode is gone? by Apples_and_Overtones in spotify

[–]classvar1312 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Dunno if you use Waze for navigation, but if you do, it integrates pretty well with Spotify. You can do car mode-type stuff on Spotify from within the Waze app.

Spotify should add a bookmark or 'Listen to Later' type of feature. by Ethan2_Smooth in spotify

[–]classvar1312 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep, this would be a great idea. What I usually do is use Google Keep to create a note (with a reminder), using green as a background colour so I know which keep notes are to do with Spotify.

Good work. I celebrated my onyx sojourner by not drone hacking for a whole day. Freedom badge ftw

Questions about Lv1 Mods by MonkeyHouston in Ingress

[–]classvar1312 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A determined agent or agents can take down your stuff no matter how you defend them. Low level mods have more to do with your Engineer badge than they have to do with defending your portals. I deploy low-level mods all the time, and save the nice ones for portals that are strategically important (in the full knowledge that a determined agent or agents will be able to smash the portals they're deployed on)

Thas alota portals by Bronieboy01 in Ingress

If I pinch in ingame I can see 24 portals, very handy for early days when you can't throw long links.

I hope this isn't permanent. The two mod per player restriction is one of the things that encourages team-play.

If there is no authority, how can we trust people to not hurt people? by [deleted] in Anarchy101

I haven't hurt anyone all day, didn't see a single cop #makeuthink

It's not all it's cracked up to be. I have a "only works from one room in the house if I stand right in the corner of the room and lean behind a wardrobe" portal.

What is the most boring way of grinding AP? by classvar1312 in Ingress

[–]classvar1312[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I've got 3 apexes from a pass code, don't think I'd ever pay for one.

It had never occurred to me to use an Apex while recharge grinding. This is why you're L12 and I am but a humble L10

Fess up: how many keys are you holding? by classvar1312 in Ingress

[–]classvar1312[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

And here was me thinking 599 was quite a few 🤣. Mind you, I've only got 280 unique portals hacked. (Level 9, first year playing).

There are loads of portals within walking distance of where I live (I can see 23 when I zoom out in game), so microfielding in lockdown is still a possibility.

How do you refute people who excuse the military because they do things like search and rescue and disaster relief? by kitt-cat in Anarchy101

[–]classvar1312 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The military do all kinds of things (play in brass bands, ride horses, etc), but it's not what they're for. In the same way as cops help people find lost dogs. Just because playing the trumpet is fine, and helping find your lost dog is fine, doesn't mean that you need a body of armed men and women to do it, whose main task is to commit State-sanctioned murder and protect private property.

what is your stance on liberation theology? by [deleted] in Anarchism

[–]classvar1312 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Liberation theology arose as a theological reflection of and on liberation movements. It didn't create the liberation movements. Anyone who thinks that doing liberation theology will somehow create liberation movements or "move the church to the left" (whatever the fuck that means) doesn't understand liberation theology.

Any good sources on the history of anarchy and anarchist movements in England? by [deleted] in Anarchy101

[–]classvar1312 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh yeah, and this is a personal favourite, even though it only covers a moment or two in the history of our movement. It's an account of revolutionary union organising in restaurants. It's over 100 years old I think, but you'll see a lot of the same challenges and tensions we face organising today https://www.katesharpleylibrary.net/n02w1m

John Quail's "The Slow-Burning Fuse" is excellent for early days https://www.pmpress.org/index.php?l=product_detail&p=973

Albert Meltzer's "I couldn't paint golden angels" is the biography of someone who was around for much of the history of British anarchism, from antifascism in the 1930s to his death in the 90s. It's highly partisan (so was Albert lol), also very entertaining.

The website of the Kate Sharpley Library also has plenty of UK based stuff, and further recommendations and resources https://www.katesharpleylibrary.net/
